Fun game, I like everything :)
The movement's precise, the art's cute and the music and sounds are good too
This was really cool! I was confused at first but once i worked out that you had to go out of bounds the progress in the level i thought that was such a cool way to design your levels.
The controls were fluid and felt good, and the levels increased in difficulty at the right pace I think.
Really nice work :)
The sprites look so cute and funny :) I personally really enjoy the horizontal wrapping since it provides for some interesting levels and the controls are super satisfying to play. Nice work, it's looks like a game that i would play on my phone!
I liked the controls on this. Overall felt pretty tight and responsive. I think the idea of having to cross the edge of the screen to loop back around was used pretty well. good job!
I had a lot of fun playing this game! It's super impressive you made this all by yourself! It took me a while to get to grips with the controls as I didn't realise you could double jump or what the green platforms did. You could write about this in the description or make it clearer in a post-jam version but I still got to grips with it after jumping about for a couple of minutes. Overall, nice submission :D
A cool little game, the graphics are pretty cute and the sound effects are great too. The concept is interesting though it isnt really linked to rewinding other than the rewind block. It has great potential to become a nice mobile game so keep it up!
Cool little game, nice and simple, and with very responsive controls. I liked all the different mechanics, but it can be hard to figure out what you can do (I got stuck almost immediately before I realized the screen wrapped around).
Edit: I didn't play the tutorial...
I like the cute artstyle, horizontal screen wrapping is interesting. Overall pretty fun! I did get stuck on the first screen with clouds though.
Thanks for the comment. I love the aesthetic and the horizontal wrapping of space. I’m not too great at precision platforming and found myself falling off the ledges a lot. A trick I learned from a video by Tim Ruswick (Game Dev Underground) was to cheat and give players a few frames of leeway so if their reaction timing is off they still perform the jump. Good work!
Love the visuals and it's an extremely challenging game... Maybe a double jump would make the game cooler? Don't really think you need it though... Would make a good mobile game :D
If you want something kind of similar (it's a platformer) you could try mine, although of course I dont want to be "that person" :P Anyway, fantastic work for 30 hours!
This is a really great game. The movement feel snappy and I could see this being a really fun mobile game. I also like the music (but you did forget to loop it).
However, I don't think this game fits the theme well. The "rewind block" might as well have been a spike that kills you.
I'd really appreciate it if you would have a look at my game as well, and be sure to download the smaller version :D
This is such a great, well polished game! The controls feel SUPER solid and responsive, which I've heard is really hard to do! Setting the game up in a tall, skinny window is super clever and the level design complements this so well! My only critique would be that the game didn't fit the theme super well like others have said, but for me this was no big deal because it was still super polished and fun! Also, I did find a small bug where it said I collected 275 coins out of 8 (I guess I must just be that good :) )
then: took me 20 min to figure it out..
now: damm it's aswm!!! art, visuals, audio is aswm!!!
Fun platformer took me a while to figure out that I had to jump up to get to the next part, but the controls and game play were great
Graphics fit the game really well and the platforming itself was really fun! I also liked how you designed your levels around the "warp screen" mechanic, it really made me think about where to move my character. There's two areas I see for improvement though - One, add a short grace period (like 0.2 sec) for jumping whenever you run off a platform. I often found myself not being able to jump because I ran off the edge right as I hit the jump button. The other is that despite all the other cool stuff in the platofrmer, I didn't really see a rewind mechanic this game. Overall, nice entry!
The Good:
- Art - the art is super clean and fits the game very well. Everything just feels pleasing to look at
- Polished - levels and mechanics seemed well thought out and I couldn't find any bugs
- Movement and controls - the movement felt satisfying and responsive, and the little run animation was a cool as well
- Variety - you added a bunch of different fun mechanics, and you introduced them to the player slowly so they don't get overwhelmed. Great job
Could Improve:
- Theme adherence - this is the first and only major downside. If I were to play this game without any context, I would've never thought it was created with the rewind mechanic in mind. It simply just boils down to restarting
- Length - the game felt too short for me. I managed to collect all the coins and win the game in under 5 minutes on the first attempt. However, I will not rate you down for this, I'm just simply pointing out that this is an improvement you could make
Overall:
One of the best games I've played so far. Very fun, polished and clean. Again, just pointing out that the theme was under-utilised, but apart from that everything was great.
