The movement could be improved. The wall jumps was a bit hard. Nice little game. Well done! :)

In what way does your game fit the theme?
We took inspiration from 80s outrun aesthetic. And in game you can travel back in time rewinding the cassette.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, we did.

Onestly at first I didn't understand what I was supposed to do, probably because of the great sunset and cassette on the screen that captured my attention, once I figured that out though I really appreciate it. The music, the background and the atmosphere in general are great. Overall a nice little game, well done!
If you have time check out our game!
nice game, grappling was fun. wall jump was kinda akward at first, until I got used to it.
First, the game look super cool, the ambiance, the aesthetic, really well made!
The movement it's a little bit tricky cause you need to take some speed before you can jump forward, the grapling mechanic also tricky but really fun, and maybe restart after the tutorial, it's not super long, but after some times, it's repetitive. But overall it's a great game!
Good Job!
The Good:
- Very cool art style and music - the way everything looks really hits the spot, and the music compliments the overall aesthetic
- Nice grapple mechanic - useful and fun to use
- Satisfying jumps - the momentum buildup you got from moving transferred well into the jumps
- High score system - nice to track your progression especially since you have to replay the game multiple times. Also well done on making scores stay throughout game sessions (I made it to 1055 score before giving up)
Could Be Better:
- Music was too loud for me - consider lowering volume or adding an option to change it
- Movement feels a bit clunky, especially on top of blocks - consider lowering friction
- Rewind mechanic wasn't central to the theme - perhaps making it necessary to use in certain places would make the game better adhere to the theme
Very fun playing, until I tried the grapple, and then I was stuck in the air swinging around even though I had no grapple.
Really cool theme and idea! Like some others here, I had some trouble with the controls (mainly because horizontal movement is very slow to accelerate), and I wish there was an option to play without that tutorial at the beginning. Awesome music though!
Hi! I liked the visuals and the music was a great complement for the experience. My only recommendation is the controls. Polish this and this game will be even better! Great work!
The grapling hook is a weird thing though. It's not easy to use and makes this game harder than it actually should be. I also did make my way out by spamming it while climbing an obstacle. The player wasn't in the stage anymore and i basically made infinite points. It stopped at 415, but the level also didn't generate at that point anymore.
The Visuals are pretty damn sick and the music motivates playing more. I don't know how you would use the rewind ability, didn't make sense anywhere.
Music and visuals were great but found the controls a little hard to use especially with the long wind-up time for the character to move. Otherwise really enjoyed it :).
I really loved the aesthetic you did in the game and the game play was simple but with a nice change. One thing is that the rewind didnt save from death, I wished there was like a 1 second delay before the scene reloaded to be saved, but over all I loved the design of the level and how it helped educate the controls and everything. Good job
So visually stunning, love what you've done with the post processing and effects. The music in particular was excellent. I wasn't able to get far in the game but I enjoyed the fact that the game was played on a literal cassette that you rewind. Fantastic UI too. Altogether an extremely well polished experience.
