Nice game :) well don
Thank You!
This game reminds me of the crash bandicoot stages in which a polar bear or a dinosaur chases crash. It's fun! However not knowing which direction should I take because I can't see much of what's next, made this game a trial&error game.
Thank you for the feedback!
I like how the way the objects change the farther the car progresses in the game. It really makes the gameplay feel more varied the farther you progress. It also kind of motivates the player to try again after dying because they want to end up seeing what surprises are up ahead.
I also like how the orbs glow brightly in flames so the player can easily see what object is important to collect. The fiery blue glow that they have seems to fit with the color palette of the spaceship which really makes these orbs feel connected with these extraterrestrial beings.
It also felt good to use the rewind power at a moment where the spaceship was about to get me. It really gave me the feeling of cheating death. I do kind of wish I could be able to collect more orbs than just the limit of three. Perhaps you could have 3 sets of bars that activate after collecting three orbs each (ie. filling one bar allows you to use rewind one time, two bars allow two rewinds, three bars allow three rewinds).
It's kind of hard to see what's up ahead as I'm driving backwards since the camera is looking at the car. There were a few times where a wall would cover my screen and I couldn't find an opening until it was already too late. I feel like a bird's eye view camera would work better for a game that involves having to dodge obstacles that the car is moving towards.
Another way that you could show that the spaceship is getting closer to the car is to have a HUD that shows the distance between the aliens and the vehicle. Here's a visual example I made on how this can be implemented:
Perhaps you could also add a constant sound effect the spaceship produces that gets increasingly louder the closer it is to the car in order to give the player another indicator the distance they have from it.
There were a few times where my car ended up stopping because it bumped into a small object, such as a shrub or a stick. It would make more sense if the car only slowed down slightly as it goes over these objects instead of stopping all the way. This would make it less punishing for the player to not notice smaller objects, compared to the big and obvious boulders that are in the way.
Also I just found out now that YOU'RE ONLY 11 AND YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO MAKE GAMES IN UNITY?! Your game is legitimately better than some of the stuff that's made by full grown adults in this jam, and I truly mean that. Don't you ever stop designing and learning how to make games. With your capability to make games like this at 11, I can't imagine how good you will get at game design when you reach the age of 21.
WOW, that was by far the longest comment I ever got, and it had a lot of great tips. I will definitely be sure to play your game. Thank you so much!
Great Game,
pls play and rate my game too:

Great concept & gameplay is really fun, and easily replayable.
The energy balls had an electric effect which made me avoid them the first time because I thought they would hurt me. But a really good concept nonetheless :]
Nice work!
Love the concept and art style! Keep it up
Interesting idea! I love the concept of going backwards, it definitely made the game more challenging and fun to play! The music and sound effects were also pretty good.
One minor improvement (perhaps?) I want to mention is that when I first started playing the game, the alien moved little too fast towards the character, it was hard for me to react.
But it was still overall an awesome game!
Thank you! These tips are very Helpful!
This game was really good. I really liked it. However, I would recommend increasing the turning speed of the care. Just a personal preference. The mechanic and concept was really cool. Overall I really liked the game.
Could you please take the time to rate my game too? It would mean a lot tome if you rated it.
Thanks a lot, don't worry I rated your game too!
For being 11 years old I think it's very impressive that you made a whole game by yourself. But the hit boxes and the spacing of the objects made it so I got stuck way to often. Good job!
Thanks you!
You're welcome and feel free to play my game as well :)
Very interesting concept. Driving only in reverse makes it move tense, interesting, and easier to see the alien. Nice job!
Thank you!
omg, you did that being 11? that's impresive! the game is fun, and it works properly.
just a few things:
1- there's no point in saving energy balls (it would make more sense if the time you rewind the aliens would be bigger if you have more energy balls)
2- collisions are a bit too big or something, like... if you colide with small branches in the floor, they souldn't stop you etc...
3-add a bit more randoomness, if you can at some point, like... where the energy balls spawn or the level layout
4- this one is very tiny, some trees are floating hehe.
Congratulations, it's a nice game!
Thank you, a lot of these tips I have never seen. I played your game, it's amazing!
oh yeah? awesomesause :)
Thank you everyone for your rating and honest feedback. I will do better next time. I was rushing through this game as I'm 11 years old and my parents only allowed me to code for 1 or 2 hour a day for this jam.
Great job its fun to play and super unique, I do think the collisions on trees could be a bit better, maybe be able to drive through leafs and bushes but they slow you a little, it made it really hard when every weird angle or small object stopped the car.
Nice game! I had some fun playing it. I think it gets boring really quickly but anyway, good job :)
Thank you!
Nice game, fit the theme well. One note:
- It was hard to know where to go because since the camera only showed a small part of where you were going. This may just be part of the difficulty
Thanks for playing, I had put the camera to only see a little bit behind the player so it wouldn't bee to easy.
nice game didn't encounter many bugs and fits the theme well
Thank you!
Cool game! I'd maybe recommend increasing how fast the player can turn though. Sometimes it can be hard to see what's coming just by nature of the camera angle and you can't turn fast enough to plan ahead and avoid obstacles by the time you see them.
I had too lower the turning sensitivity because I had people playtest it, and most said it was to high. Thank you for rating though!
Great game, it has a well-balanced difficulty, and the time gun gives some nice breathing room in an emergency.
Please rate my game as well.
Thank you! I rated your game too.
Very cool game! I enjoyed it a lot. The game music maybe is too monotonous. After few runs, it is a little annoying ahahahah but I know that is hard to make everything in just 1 week. It is solid, I've never encounter significant bugs. I recognized the menu ahahahah I used it for my very first game in Unity. The music for the menu and also the graphics are good. And the gameplay is simple and well implemented. Maybe you need to make more evident the texts to the left that explain the controls. I did like 6/7 runs before to read them ahahah. Well done ;)
Thanks for the tips, I rated your game, it was cool.
