Interesting premise. I think some of the mechanics are a bit unfair/give too much up to chance. It ends up being a game of inching a little here then inching a little there without much strategy.

In what way does your game fit the theme?
You have to move multiple players to hit the end. "Tegare" is Flemish for "together".
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
We programmed all the code and made all levels. The chess pieces were made by Andrew McClain Hanold

Really excellent game! One of my favorites I've played in the jam. Love the game idea and how nice and polished it is. Sometimes the enemies maybe moved in a confusing way but might've just been me? Overall though really excellent and love the strategy involved to solve the levels!
Nice game, well polished, can't think of any tips or advice to give here :P
The idea is good and I liked the first levels but I got stuck in the knight level.
Knights can kill the player from outside the screen and their movment is hard to predict. I also expected knight to move with the same rules than real chess.
I made a grid based game with isometric view too (because it looks better) but it make the controls akward. A lot of players complained.
what an unexpected game! i enjoy chess very much and so i did with your game. It's very nice to see a variation / different approach to chess. Truly interesting! I have two notes, i would love to see the whole map while playing and some kind of grid maybe, in order to track the knight's moves a little bit easier. Very nice idea and execution MrDee :)
Very interesting game. I couldn't quite figure out the knights and it felt like it was because they were out of the screen most of the time, so I'd suggest finding a way to make their patterns more clear or maybe just being able to see where they are at all times. But either way, I really enjoyed this. Good job!
Very unique gameplay and design. It was pretty hard though but that is not a bad thing :D
I love this whole idea! Very well implemented. The design is great and the audio is fantastic! Well done!
It would be cool if you could check out my game too and give it a rating. https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-5/rate/925013
Love the simplistic art design, adds the focus on the player and the enemies. There is a big difficulty spike in the knight level, which is very unforgiving as they sometimes come out of view onto your face and you need to restart. I also could not find any logic behind their movement, which made it extremely difficult.
Thanks for playing the game. The AI of the enemies is the same like in pacman. The only diffirence is that they calculate their path more than 1 step per round. The Knight moves 20 steps each round so this makes some wierd behavour. I tought this fit the knight well. This is indeed the most difficult level in the game but I wanted to follow the value of chess pieces for each level.
Thanks for the feedback!
I really like your game, it's relaxing and complicated, but not too complicated. I really like the theme and how the game looks like, the only thing that I had problem with (not a big deal) was that it didn't go back to the main menu when I pressed on credits (as I said, not a big deal) .
This game is calming. I hope this inspires some new people get interested chess.
Nice puzzle, the gameplay concept is really creative and the visuals are minimalistic, but very professional.
Great game! I love the puzzles and the music. It was hard to understand the knights movement. If you have time, check out my game! https://markus-franz.itch.io/what-the-blob
