Did a gameplay for it! Thanks for this fun entry!  Much love <3

Overall very fun! The ship was a little floaty, and I wonder how it would feel if the laser projectiles were slowed down a bit - it took me a really long time to clear the first level because I couldn't time the shots right for those tiny aliens. Keep up the good work!

Pretty nice game, a little buggy at times, but I enjoyed experimenting with the different ships.

Nice game, I really liked the way you can choose a ship.

Hey I think you got a pretty nice game, but was the ennemies supposed to go down? I was just shooting at them and collecting coins. It was complete tho, no bugs, no problem and tons of effects / visuals. And also maybe you can post the credits screen on somewhere or make it scrollable? I've lost on it, it was too fast to read. But overall it was a good idea

+ kudos for the Linux and WebGL builds, multiplatform is da wae :)

Developer

Very positive comment :) thank you for playing the game!

Cool game! I love the blast of the bomb weapon, and this game fits the theme a 100%, i find the movement quite sliding?  But i think it  can be fixed in the future, great job!

Developer

the sliding was intended :)

Very nostalgic feeling from this game, I loved it, awesome idea :D

Also hope you can rate our game as well :D    https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-6/rate/1177206 <3

I loved it! You should make it even more like asteroids by having the player in the middle of the screen and giving him full control over his movement, as well as having enemies spawn in from the corners, each of which should have it's own special movement patterns and behavior!

I played long enough to get a couple of upgrades, but the difficulty really needs to increase faster, 1-2 starter levels would have been plenty. Still fun, liked the upgrade mechanic, and the invaders bumping into each other was a nice touch.

this game makes a lot of fun just shot the enemies and collecting coins. Overall very polished game with a lot of settings :D

you can do something great out of that. keep going👍

Actually gets pretty fun when theres loads of sh*t on the screen. You should definitely make the difficulty scale faster by default.

Archive uses extensions not common in free zip implementations, 7zip can deal with it though. Game runs on Linux without issues, but seem to act weirdly in few ways.

* Sometimes I can't shoot while the last projectile long left the screen. Othertimes I can shoot the second it disappeared.
* The coins are pretty inconsistent to drop. Can take quite some time before you get enough for any upgrades.
* The acceleration on this ship feels kinda wild, but that was possibly an intention.
* If you click load next level in the store, you always get the first/same level loaded? I played for a while and it felt kinda samy every level until I noticed I'm still on level 1.
* Maybe start the how to play by actual instructions and put comments on how you made the game somewhere below or into credits or something. If I click how to play, I want to know how to play.

Otherwise nice idea, good execution.

It was a really fun game and the game design was pretty good.
After a while it became really chaotic, what is really good.
There was byt hte way a problem, your bullet moves so fast that is sometimes misses the collision of the enemy. I would use a raycast for better accuracy. Still a good game.

WebGL version uses Raycasts. But we did not add this option for Windows and Linux.

Sadly we discovered this problem too late and we didn't have enough time to fix for all versions.

Thanks for the feedback.

This is a good concept! I think the early levels could be somewhat more difficult though, as it was somewhat boring in the beginning.

There is an option in the Options to select the start level.

First levels are very simple indeed.

Nicely done game! Sometimes the hits did not really connect. I had to hit the target some cm left or right and not dirctly.

Hello, probably you played in the browser and there was some FPS drop. In this case we use a workaround to handle collisions, and these are less accurate.

The workaround is only for WebGL build and only if the bullet cannot be rendered correctly all frames (so it may skip collisions)

Thanks for your comment.

nice game

not original tho

Developer

There are many twists that the original did not have, shop, choosing different ships that each have their own special powers and weakness, it's using the idea, yes but it is not straight off riping it.

Submitted

I thought the game was fun, just not original, it is basically just space invaders with some extra features.
