How does you game fit the theme?
This is a platformer game in which you are trapped in a dungeon, But there is a twist, some things you see in the game are NOT REAL, some are. So you have to test everything to see if it is real or not by risking your OWN LIFE!!!

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
There was no code used in this project. All was Gdevelop's Visual Scripting. The asset were not made from scratch, they were downloaded.

"Hallucinations" is kind of puzzle game about a guy stuck in a mysterious room. At the beginning I thought that green door is good but I realized that it was not. It was sort of nice play experience for me.

Rated it, nice game

The tried and true concept of choosing doors to determine outcomes, nice rickrolling. The walking animation looked a little funky and the player was a little slow or just didn’t match up to the animation speed. Nice work though, it was simple and sweet and I enjoyed it!

Thanks friedlettuce

Interesting game mechanic idea! I think it would be cool if it was a bit faster so there was a nice sense of momentum.

Developer

Thank you curly Goblin.

The atmosphere in this was really good, I was on edge the entire time thinking something was gonna start chasing me or something. The solution wasn't super clear so I think the game would've benefitted from being a bit longer so you can better familiarize the player with hallucinations so they expect to look a bit harder for things, but time was limited so I can understand why you might not have. Also the controls seemed a bit awkward for me, I would've preferred the standard WASD (ZQSD for AZERTY keyboards) with R for undo so I could play the game one handed instead of having two hands on the keyboard and having to move my hand to click the undo button. But I think the concept is good and you could definitely expand this into a bigger game if you wanted!

Developer

Thanks, I also wanted to put the wasd code, but the character controls were for arrow keys, and coding the player controls took time. As you said the time was limited, i also wanted to expand the game like a shadow chasing you and at the end there will be a dr phill clone and you had the option to go through him if you thought he was not real. Or to run. And also at the end of the game the whole game concept would come, That how the player reached there. But anyway i am also thinking of expanding the game. And thanks for playing it.

Really cool animations and Player Sprite, but the Player is a little bit slow...
The Music is great (Sounddesign is great too)

Developer

Thanks, This is my first game.

Points for Rick :D Was there actual ending though or did I miss it?

The walk animation seems out of sync with the actual movement speed and the monologue at the beginning is kind of small and hard to read. Reset times didn't reset after death.

Nice to see sound options, although they seemed to reset anyway when the game begins...

Well done, keep at it!

Thanks for replying. I am sorry for slow character, most of the people are complaining about it. There is a ending. Do let me know if you want me to tell you. Hint (Some walls can be fake as well). The reset button is actually undo, which allows to go to the previous room. Thanks.

Developer

Guys this is my first game and it has 26 ratings in literally 1 day. Thank you so much!!!

It took me a few tries. Had to take those risks. Not sure what the reset function does? I was still able to win though! When I got to the blue button I thought I was about to win. You got me lol

Developer

Thanks for playing. The reset function is actually undo. I did not add backdoors to make the game harder. You have limited undo's and with the help of them you can go to the previous room.

That rick roll part was neat lol

I like the game idea!

Developer

Lol, Thanks for playing btw.

The Game is great. I suppose this is a suspense game? It makes me feel nervous and intense when I choose different options. Such as when I click the button and the top ceil suddenly is lowering.

I would say a puzzle or a more logical concept can be added would make it even better. Since now I can't see any logic to determine which path is real and not-real. This would make the player only randomly test all the options. This experience would decrease the participation of the player since they won't value their action in the game. They only need to try every  options and memorize the paths without using their mind and thinking.

As you mentioned, We need to risk our own life to figure out the real or not real things. However, a game without any guide and prediction would simply make it a random game.

A button in a room, that would seem obvious that there is a trap. This can give player some information to anticipate and predict the result, which require player to think. A red and green doors would appear the green may be good and the red may be bad. This also gives information to player to decide which path to choose. These are good examples that give information to player and let them think which to choose.

But after that, sometimes there will be another green and red doors choices again, which makes me to not knowing the logic behind it and kind of confused. When the player can't figure out the pattern or logic behine. They would simply try everything aimlessly and they would value their game experience less.

(I am not good at making game, this is just my little thought so feel free to ignore it and hope it didn't offend you.)

Developer

Thank you for the suggestion. Will keep it in mind next time :)

I love the idea, I would like to see a more elaborate game with this kind of personality. Well done!

Thanks a lot

Congrats on your first game! I liked the different endings and death texts, never made it feel like I went through the same death twice. All the best :)

Developer

Thanks bro.

Hey!

I really enjoyed your game. It had me laughing the first time because I got to the Rick Rolled room first XD. But I found myself having to know what was behind every possible combination of doors. I didn't find a way to beat the game, though. Perhaps I missed something, or this was intentional. Either way, I enjoyed it and cool submission.

Good Luck!

Developer(+1)

Thanks you. In the end where there are 2 doors. One red and one brown. The wall behind it is fake. And you can go through it to reach a green door. Which makes you win.

Very good

Hope you the best

Developer

Thanks bro Same to you
