How does you game fit the theme?
Though it appears as if you are alone, an unknown threat is following you-- and waiting for its chance to pounce.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Everything was made from scratch, other than a couple of public domain sprite packs that provided a starting point for the tile based art and some audio samples derived from public domain.

Cool graphics, great sound and a good take on the theme. Sadly I wasnt really enjoying this because i am too dumb to solve the puzzles. I got stuck at the second room

This is an amazingly thematic game! I love the sound design, the consistent aesthetic, and the moody lighting.

I just hope I can figure out the trick to level 2, because I want to progress forward. I'm a bit lost when it comes to those three boxes. Edit: Now I know why... the keypad asks for four inputs when there are only three boxes. But I was able to finish the game! I quite enjoyed it.

Hi! Very cool game! Like others have said, the ambient sound was great. Perhaps the monster came a bit too quick for my taste. The second room felt impossible for a looong time. I think I did the right thing but counted top down instead of left right, which made me thing that wasn't the right solution. The rest felt very easy in comparison. Perhaps that should have been last? :P Either way, congratulations on such mind bending game!

Thank you! Yeah, we discussed moving the rooms around but it was too late and too scary to make any big changes😅 -Dustin

The ambient sounds are absolutely brilliant.  Good job on that.  Not showing the monster is a better design decision.  You made the right call.  The perspective you choose is certainly unique.

Appreciate it!

Very strong atmosphere that puts us well under pressure.

The mix of 2D and 3D is subtly done.

A big bravo for the puzzles, it took me long minutes of reflection!

Graphics are unique, sound effects are well done. I think seeing the beast (or whatever is the creature) would be more effective and it would make death cams better. And I am stuck at level2, I will edit this when I finish the game.  (Wow, it was shorter than I expected. Really good game!)

If we had more time I would've loved to make some artwork for the monster. Maybe in a future update we will! Really glad you were able to finish the game! -Hunter

Love the ambience, the scary mood with the lighting and creature banging on the door. The 2.5D was cool, having pixelart in a 3D game looked great, allowing for the nice lighting effects.

Cool game !

Thank you! We originally were going to just do 2D but decided early on to make the switch to a 3D project and it seems like it was worth it! -Hunter

i gotta say Goddam the sound design is amizing, im to much of a smooth brain to make it past puzzle 2 but this is really good

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I had a ton of fun doing the sound design! Level 2 is definitely tough. If you play again, look at the markings on the symbols on the room and the orientation of the boxes -Hunter

The combination of perspective and use of light sources are cool. Spooky steps and sound effects are immersive. Was eaten by something three times, could not leave the first room. I think I'm dumb.

The art is just amazing. And the idea of mixing 3d and 2d is very clever. But the puzzles were a bit hard for my smol brain.

Developer(+1)

I'm happy you liked the art! Thank you very much for trying it out.

The muted colour scheme and pixel art aesthetic meshes surprisingly well with the 3d space. The sound design also intensifies these puzzles. I feel like that I get eliminated a bit too quickly so its a bit hard to figure out what to do though. But when I learnt of how to do the first puzzle, it seemed so obvious. Nice work!

Damn, this looks great! I love the artstyle and sound design. Can't figure out how to get past the first room for the life of me tho :((

Developer

Dang, okay. For others who may have a similar issue: check the pattern of light and dark boxes on the left side.

No luck with a WebGl build, sorry about that folks :/
