Oh now I can imagine how hard it was to design the audio. Oh btw. I just came up with a pretty silly idea for the hit feedback in audio: Maybe it could work to play the hit sound on the "rhythm" of the shoot sound. I dunno if this could work but I thought the idea was funny and it could work with the rapid fire rate
This stealth game is an unusual take on the theme of the jam. Necromancy may not fit so well with the game, but regardless it's fun to search for the people wearing the clothes the necromancer needs. It felt extra rewarding if you remembered the position of a certain villager. The quotes were cool. The audio was good as well as the graphics. You did a really good job at making sprites fitting to the package. Great game that stands out!
Every Game Jam has at least one game which could be a full game. This game is a really polished one with great puzzle design, and a good amount of that! The graphics, music and sound effects are good too.
I must admit that I didn't make it through the whole game as I get frustrated with puzzle games farely quickly. I made it to the level with the many conveyor belts and the green skulls. Sorry
I love the idea of using the needle as a weapon. That's pretty creative. The art is nice but I wish there were animations and the player wouldn't just be a white cube. The sounds and the music are good. The game left me wanting more which is a good sign that I had fun.
Two Bugs I encountered:
The music doesn't loop. You can fix this by checking 'loop' on the AudioSource Component.
The rotation of the needle goes crazy when you move it slowly or move the pointer on it. But I wouldn't know how to fix that
Let's get that out of the way: For a long time I didn't really know what to do. I couldn't find any explanations for the features. The tutorial seems to be exactly the same as the normal game. But now I get some of them. For instance I didn't get that you collect body parts and especially that you'd need a needle to sew them together. Now that I'm writing this I feel pretty dumb because it just makes sense. But I still don't know what's the effect of the green acid.
The graphics were charming and the color palette was good. I find the mechanic of enemies damaging each other on contact cool. Unfortunatly I got stuck in a group of enemies that were already colliding multiple times and I had to wait there until they got killed. The sounds were well chosen and fitting to the situation. I also liked the upgrades
The music is cool. It is a little bit akward for a platformer in the clouds but I like it. The graphics are interesting. The blue cloud sprite especially. I like it. I think the graphics would look even better if it had a consistent pixel density.
Btw. a quick tip: In Unity in the import settings of a sprite you can change the texture filtering to point. With this setting the pixel art sprites wouldn't be blurred.
I didn't like the level design. It was really frustrating to have to do blind jumps all the time. You already explained that this was intentional. For me it was just frustrating.
Overall a solid jam game. Congratulations for submitting.
It's really short. I think this was a pretty good tutorial. I think labyrinths aren't a good element because it is random if you make it through it quick or slow. In this case the labyrinth wasn't so bad because it was pretty easy. In another game jam game I spent 10 minutes inside a labyrinth and that was a little boring. The graphics look great. I've enjoyed the dialogue and the puzzle. I would recommend to use other buttons. Z and X aren't common buttons and you dont know how to start the game. Additionally on german keyboards x and z arent right next to each other. In my opinion E to interact would be better. Overall great game.
