It was great I liked its pixelated graphics, "which is rare for me" Very smooth game and it was one of the best I played in the jam. Far better than my own game XD

Developer

Aw don't say that :(( Your game was great! I loved the music and the animations were really cool

Amazing game, super spooky and super original. Also, probably the best game I've rated so far in this jam. You would definitely deserve to win. Also can you rate my game?

Developer

Thanks a lot <3 I'm glad you enjoyed it! I would be really honored to win seeing as this is my first real jam tho, even in the very likely even I don't, my main problem right now is that  I'm really struggling to get ratings good or bad, and I don't really know what to do about it :((

(btw your game is awesome! loved the take on the theme and the music slaps hard)

thanks!

very cool and original.  I also like that everything is pixelated, how did you do that?

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing <3 I'm glad you enjoyed! For the shader, I had a secondary camera output to a render texture, which I then just put up on a UI image that fills the screen. Pretty primitive effect. You could definitely find better ways to do it if you looked online I bet :))

thank you!

Very cool game, super creepy and original idea! Though this has to be a flashlight with the smallest light radius in the history of horror games :P

I also like the pixelize effect, makes it much creepier. I use it too ;)

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed :))

Good enough. I was really scared. A great atmosphere from a seemingly small number of items. But I have to point out that the camera felt a little jerky.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Thanks for the feedback! Sorry to hear that :(( Do you know if you could describe what specifically is "jerky" about it? It would help a lot.

Here. I just move the camera to the right to the left, it does not follow the mouse smoothly.

Developer

Hmm... That's very weird. I haven't seen that sort of thing in any playtest so far. What machine are you running it on?

(Also thanks so much for taking the time to do this! <3)

I have windows 10 (64 bit operating system)

Thanks a lot :)) I have no idea what the problem is tho ;u;

I definitely felt the horror vibes lol, really enjoyed the art style. My mind was absolutely blown that you had an actual useful menu and settings on top of everything else!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! :)) I had a lot of feedback from playtests saying the sensitivity or the volume would feel of to the player so I thought I had to budget time for that as well.

I loved the idea of playing musical chairs with ghosts/demons, I think the jumpscare could use some work also give the game a little more tension, it felt like whenever i died it was pretty instant. Also maybe some visual indicator of what chair people are sitting in or not, maybe some shadows. Otherwise i genuinely liked it was fun!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I couldn't find a great way to communicate that through game language, so for now the only visual indicator is a "[E] to sit" prompt whenever the player hovers over the correct one.  As for the audio, I thought that the track that plays whenever the music stops did a passable job of building tension, though I might have to rework that somehow. In any case, this my first real game I publish, I'm glad you enjoyed it <33

I died because of not finding the flashlight. That was... unexpected xD. Cool game, though

Why does pixel art make it even spoopier?

Cool and creepy interpretation of a popular child's game. Loved it! Come and check my game as well.

amazing dude! wasn't able to finish I got too scared plus its like 2:00am for me, but great game, very scary, very well polished, graphics were very good.

Developer

Thanks for your time <3

Very well polished for a jam game and it was quite fun but a little difficult. Cool submission

great game! Very hard though. Im probably just unlucky but I still cant find an unoccupied seat.

Developer

I'm sorry to hear that :(

If it helps,  the correct seat should have a prompt appear when you're looking at it
