Interesting game! I love the dim lighting and how the light would flash a bit for each shot. Good job on the details!

Developer

Thanks! The lighting was one of our central ideas for the game so you’d never be sure if a zombie could jump out at you from the dark.

Wow this game was super fun! It wasn't too easy or too hard. Exploration is rewarded with health packs and ammo. The graphics were pixel great and sfx of weapons wonderful. The only thing that was missing was crunchy sound effects for the on hit effects and pickup sfx. I enjoyed it, well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We will add more sound effects in the future, unfortunately we ran out of time to add more for the jam.

A zombie game with some various weapon, how to not like it ;) Honestly it's clean and well done. I like the pixelart graphics and the lighting. I think you deal more damage if you shoot a zombie in the head right ? But it was not clear enough, maybe some feedback to tell the player that you deal more damage or an effect when it dies from a headshot or something. Great job :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yes, headshots do extra damage, when you land a headshot it does a "burst" particle effect that is noticeably different if you know what it looks like. However, a lot of people didn't notice it so I think we'll add more ways to tell that you landed a headshot, such as a different sound or bigger particle effect, or even the zombies being staggered when you land a headshot.

I liked the weapon variety. It was something that kept me motivated me to progress. Overall really nice game. Good job :)

Developer

Thank you! We wanted to add lots of cool weapons that were fun to use, and the different types of ammo kinda forces you to experiment with all of them. We'll definitely be adding more in the future!

ONE OF THE BEST GAME IN GAME JAM BUT

I HADE SOME BUG WHERE I ENTRE A WALL IN LEVEL 2

Developer(+1)

Yes, that is a bug that unfortunately made it into the game jam build. It'll be fixed in the next version after the jam is over!

I think the graphics were very pretty.  I also think you guys nailed the lighting for the setting. Game felt very polished all around!

Developer

Thank you! The art was from Kauzz and Jere Sikstus (I did the character animations though).

Great graphics, and very atmospheric. I really liked it. Good job!

Really fun game. I really like what you did with all the lights. Just dark enough that felt like I needed the flare gun and definitely set a spooky vibe. Also, the flare smoke particles were a nice touch. I also thought the level design was awesome, with how much verticality there was.  Resource management was pretty well balanced.

At one point I did walk through a wall and fall forever, but that's pretty much my only complaint.

Great work, overall!

Developer

Thank you! We wanted to make it dark enough to where zombies could sneak up on you if you weren't careful, adding a lot of use to the flare gun and the flash when you fire the other guns. We also tried to capture the open-ended vertical level design of games like Hollow Knight and the Ori series.

The bugged wall was one thing that slipped through the cracks in the game jam build, but it'll be fixed in the next version after the jam is over!

Very good  concept, though i think the range for the knife has to be a small bit longer. Still very good

Developer

Thanks! The melee weapons in general are a bit harder to use than I think we intended, we will be buffing them all-around in the next version.
