It's not a axe to pick, it's an inventory! Press 1 to equip it and so on.
Other that the "It's no obvious it's an inventory", it's hard to position properly to harvest/pick up things, and some animation would be great. I would love to use the better pickaxe to destroy the previous rocks too. Overall, it's a very good game, good job!
Thank you for playing! Yeah, I wanted to implement the ability to destroy previous rocks with a better pickaxe but it would require too much time with the code I created.
Took me a few restarts to actually realize that you dont pick up the axe but that you rather have to click 1 to equip it
Couldn't get pass second level as I couldn't pick up the axe. The game also crashed two times on start for some reason.
The game didn't crash actually - for some reason (I have no idea why) if you press the Start/Restart button from below the game thinks that you pressed the Exit button. You even can see for a few frames before closing that the game for some reason chooses the Exit button as pressed.
And about the second level: I actually have no idea why it is happening with an axe. You're not the first one who faced the issue but I just cannot repro it to understand what's wrong.
I love the idea, but I don't figured out how to chop trees, but the graphics is very good!

When I leave the fist shelter , I picked up the axe , but I can't able to chop trees
It's really strange because I cannot reproduce the issue. But you're not the first facing it, so it is definitely something in my code
I liked the way you interpreted the theme of "an end is a new beginning" and enjoy the pixel art style on display, however ultimately I don't think the final product really delivered.
The music wasn't very appealing. I think a faster, more intense track would suit the kind of game this is.
The way controls were laid out felt a bit all over the place. Having a tutorial where we're introduced to these things one at a time would've helped a lot.
And lastly, what I found to be kinda game breaking, I couldn't pick up the axe. Since I couldn't leave the area without dying, I assumed that this would render the game impossible.
I couldn't find much fun out of this game. However, the initial idea is still pretty solid and I would love to see it redone without jam time restrictions!

Could you, please, share more information about your situation with axe? What exactly have you done before noticing the bug or some steps to reproduce? Because you’re not the first facing that issue and I never face it during the development. Your information would help me to understand what exactly went wrong.
Cool idea, couldnt pass the second wave of attacks since i couldnt pick up the axe.
It is strange because controls always worked properly… Sorry if your experience was broken
very simple and fun. there is definitely need more work in balancing. That can take a while to iterate though.

You need to act very fast to survive and if you don't understand something or make a few mistakes, that's it, those cavemen gonna kill ya. That adds some nice tension but doesn't feel great cuz it's very easy to not understand something or make a few mistakes.

I'm sorry that you have no opportunity to play the game. Unfortunately, I need more details to understand, what exactly went wrong.
The game has an issue with collision detection, it is true, but the bug reproduces when two resources or sources are too close to one another. At the beginning of the game, it is not the case for the two brunches. That's why I cannot understand, why it is happening :(
