I love your game. The player experience is really good. I think this game will win the jam. The music, art and core of the game, complements each other well. I could tell that you have a lot of experience making games. The design is small, tight and it feels good to play. Especially if you get the big number. It gets you hype up. This game reminds me of Balatro, very addicting game, very satisfying to play, and enjoyable.
I have nothing more to say in terms of advice or feedback. Because the game did really well expressing its well design experience for the players. As a game developer, I think you have enough skills to make game commercially.
Weird, I don't see your game as a part of the Unity Jam 2024 Tooling.gg. Anyway, Just like I said on my post , I will give my feedback. The experience is pretty good. I feel like I'm in a fantasy with very interesting narrative story. Also... THE MUSIC IS SOOO PHENOMINAL. Music and art definitely give soo much boost to the experience. Arts are beautiful. They really compliment each other and bring the most of the experience together. The story is funny. It reminds me of my school days when I want to have a free Microsoft office subscription. The game overall is pretty good, though I didn't see the theme expanding in this game.
The battle could be better in terms of game design. I don't feel the anticipation before the attack. In turn base combat, its really important to exaggerate those things to announce the changes of the state of game. There is the animation but I already see the attack happened before the animation. This can be taken for granted and sometimes overlooked but knowing this and adding it to your game will become much more fun to play. The player's reward for each battle is missing. Sure you can unlock next battle and upgrade your skills by idling and waiting for your mana to refill but personally I thinks that is not enough for player's expectations. Its very important to have reward and payoff in game.
Overall, Be positive and work on improving your game design. I think this team could make something good in the future and I'm looking forward into it. PS. Whoever did the music, you rock! Its soo good.
I like the experience of killing the enemy. It feels so satisfying. At first I was like, what? the bullet doesn't work! hmm.. Let me press and hold it. Then boom, an options where I could expand the balloon and shoot them upwards. Cool! But then I was like, what if I just continue to blow the balloon until it fills the majority of the screen. Boom! It obliterates every enemies and the UFO. That feels soo good lol. I like this game. Very simple, tight, and fun to play. Good job! I like the way you design your game.
Too bad It caps me to play only up to Level 4.
My experience when playing this game is jumbled. At first, I thought this game would be a horror or suspense but the music breaks those immersion. The second thing I noticed is that the concept of using your environment as a tool to obstruct the alien is cool but I didn't feel like it was executed well. It just not working. Even if I use my environment to obstruct the alien, it doesn't provide me a feedback if I did good or bad. Also having a lot of hp, the alien doesn't give me the feeling of threatening at all. I like the art but this need more work in game design area.
I will play your game, give you a feedback. I will try to give you what kind of experience I had when playing your game and what could be better to improve.
But remember that you must also give my game a try and leave a feedback.
My game: https://itch.io/jam/unity-jam-2024-cash-prizes/rate/2987906
I'm impressed with voice acting. Its awesome. I like the feeling of cutting grass. I know its not finished but it could be better. Like give more options for the player to decide which action to take so that its not just mindlessly clicking the grass but also have something for players to look forward to when making different decision. Anyway, good job!
I appreciate it. My game is about inventory management https://pogudesu.itch.io/recipe-for-an-unforgettable-battle
The game is very polished. Are you sure you made this only for 7 days? Be honest. Joke aside, I love the art, music, game feel, and game design. The only thing that the game suffer is the onboarding. (even veteran game designer suffer from this. It need a lot of playtesting to make this to work. So its understanble.) Anyway, I could see that this game has potential. Good work!
Art is fantastic, the sfx and music are great. Oh boy game design is phenomenal. Its fun to play it. Game feel does adds more fun. the camera shake on hit, the shader, vfx, animation, speedy line when you wind up the hammer and also the time stop on hit. You guys used a pretty good combination of those components. There is nothing for me to add to make it better I think you guys are the best.
Like other people said the art is impressive. Whoever thought of that tutorial dialogue of the Manager, please always put your self in other people shoes. You give them too much information at the start of the game. every action should have a feedback. When I'm kneading the dough, if I successfully did it, it should give me feedback.
The art style match the game. I like the sound of jumping and the vfx alongside with it. It does feel good to jump. The game is pretty polished. If I were to add something on thing game that would make it better would be to play test it with other people and see where they struggle is. Improve that or add element that would lead to solving them. I have a problem solving the puzzle but then I'm not a puzzle fan so take it as a grain of salt.
This game actually have potential. I love the art style and the direction of this game. The theme is also on point. I'm very impressed on how you can scale, move, rotate the paper. Its those thing that I can play around all time lol. I'm thinking of telling you to add more game feel to it but I kinda hesitate because it might not fit with the direction. It's a good execution for a good idea.
Hi Noh, thank you for writing this feedback. I appreciate it. I'm impressed you found how most of the mechanic work in this game. I would love to do balancing but due to time constraint, I wasn't able to do it. I definitely agree with you about the button, initially, I want to add more juice into it but I prioritize more other important parts of the game. Now that I got your feedback, I will learn from it and do it in my next jam.
As a thanks, I will definitely play your game. Once again thanks and bless you!
Holy.. this game is good. The transition is well done. The change of camera is great. The vfx, sfx, and ragdoll made the game feel much better. The game design is very cleaver. My only take away is you should remove the ability to walk because I didn't know you can walk. It took me a while to noticed it.
Overall, the game is very polished. I love the art style and I'm very impressed in game design.
