Did you use any third-party assets or skeleton code?
I reused an old Sound Manager script and a couple of the sound effects were from production crate, other than that I made everything.

This was fun! The game's art and dialogue are charming
the hitbox for the player is strange, which makes the final boss a damage rush, as the bullets become unavoidable very quickly (The dashes recharge is too slow to help most of the time). Additionally some of the colorful walls textures look like solid walls but aren't
Damm, I wasn't expecting this one to be so good, not gonna lie. Gameplay is just pure fun, and all the enemies are also pretty good too pattern wise. The sprites are still kinda simple, but I think they do their job very well, and the music is super catchy too, I was vibing throught the whole game.
And oh boy, that triumphant entrance, I absolutely loved that! Honestly this alone was probably the reason the song won me over so easily x)
Dialogues were also really funni, me llike it.
Altought this is yet another entry I'll be crying about hitboxes tho, I'm sorry ;w;
This game at least isn't nearly as bad as some other ones, the hitboxes are actually pretty fine most of the time, I only really realized their slightly jankyness at the bossfight, because there is a point on the fight when the boss is at 30 hp or so that the gaps become so tight that is literally impossible to squeeze throught witouth the dash, which was 90% of the time on cooldown. I mean, it wasn't Literally impossible, it was just unfairly hard since you need to be almost pixel perfect to fit in due to the hitbox size. Ngl I wish the character hitbox covered only it's bottom half, since this what I usually expect from top down games considering their perspective, I wasn't feeling like being hit on the head was something that should happen, since technically speaking the head should be in front of whatever is on a higher Y than my feet, if that makes sense.
And thanks to that I couldn't beat the game unfortunatelly, whenever I got the boss down to near 30 hp I would just get cornered and die.
The game also suffer a bit of screen crunching, with most of everything always being off-screen (specially on the boss), but honestly this wasn't much big of an issue by itself, just tought it would be worth pointing out.
Also "The game fits the theme because Area 51 is off-limits", this was just pure genius, I'm legit amazed and will unironically accept that as a good implementation xD
very fun game! i very liked the bullethell part of your game
i dont think that area 51 looks like this tho
Great game! I had a lot of fun playing it. The music and cute graphics were really nice. The thumbnail art was also well done. However, I think the dash and the theme could have been implemented better. Overall, you did a really great job! maybe the boss fight was kinda frustating, because the enemy spawning there wasnt fun, but it was a great experience!
I loved the sense of humor, the impacts had "oomf!" and I was hooked in within seconds, brilliant!
I saved the president.
The game is cool, I like the music, those big sprites, especially the last boss, and explosion effects, and the game is fun to play with a bunch of bullet patterns and if it is not hard you still need to be a bit careful not to die at some points.
Thanks for sharing.
Chaotic fun Nuclear Throne type combat, a little bit of story in there, nice visuals and pumping music, big win here.
Haha, what a trip! Loved the tongue-in-cheek writing and the over-the-top power level. And the shooting felt really nice. Great work!
Really loved how the music kicked in when the door opened. Also really nice feedback. Two things that would improve it for me, the walls don’t stand out as walls, was surprised to collide with them, also the camera is very zoomed in and lags behind the player so it’s really easy to walk right into enemies when moving up and get hit before you can see/react to them. Great job though!
