Thanks for all the wonderful feedback! We are working on getting the rest of the game uploaded, with a lot more art across 2 more levels, and we can actually put the rest of the story into this.
The quantity of art was lacking as I was the one who spent the second week in hospital, but all is good now so I'm back to work! and I hope you'll all come to play the finished version when it's ready!
The art is super cool! Il say that the gameplay is a bit hard, since if you touch anything you lose health, even if you moved in snail speed.
also following the story was a bit hard, I didnt know who was speaking and the high language didnt help, so adding the images of the speaker and maybe different sounds for different characthers can help.
good job!!
One of my favourites! I love the visual style and the narrative that drives the game progression. The sound design is great too!
I think the difficulty needs to be balanced especially after lantern gets smaller - also, finding health in the water would really make the game mechanics work better. I also noticed that the boat bounces off of the bounds of the game world and sometimes it just means that the boat is launched at an obstacle and takes a few hits in a row. I must admit - it was hard to find an aspect of the game that I would have improved. Very good job!
Thanks! We have had the exact same thoughts and will work on improving the game for the next update.
Really loved the visuals, and the story is cool. I had trouble figuring out were to go and how to get the next note.
Thanks! We'll work on more obvious player hints going forward.
A checkpoint system would help a lot. The somber atmosphere aligns perfectly with the gameplay. It feels like a polished game.
Thanks for the feedback!
Can't argue with the other comments. The atmosphere you created with the visual elements along with the audio all work really well together. I do wish you could continue from where you left off. I smashed my boat several times and starting from the beginning again can get tedious. However, a great job overall.
Appreciate the comment! We'll look at ways to make the game less tedious.
This game was amazing. The visuals were top notch in here I can't give more props to that. The story was awesome and the atmosphere provided a really strong and intense mood for this game. Amazing job on this entry!
I'm sorry to hear one of your team members suffered medical conditions, but I'm glad they recovered!
Thanks for playing our game!
Amazing :)
The visuals, audio and boat/light/rain/lightning mechanic worked together really effectively. And the story the bottles were telling seemed pretty interesting :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was fantastic! The visuals and the atmosphere! Really, really cool!
Thanks!
The visual effects, the music, the narration is of very good quality. The controls are easy to use and the game is very easy to play. Well done team!
Thank you!
OOoooh that art is something to admire!
Definitely loved the game, and as that other guys said, adding a voice-over will DEFINITELY boost up the enjoyment.
Awesome Job Guys :D
Appreciate the comment! We'll think about adding voice overs for sure.
Spooky boat game!
Not sure why, but I found the controls to be kinda unintuitive. But I also wasn't using a controller, so that might be my fault!
Thanks for the feedback, we'll work on the controls!
Really beautiful! If I had one complaint, it's that the gameplay got a tiny bit stale. I definitely liked navigating and the lightning-illuminated art is breathtaking, but I felt that I wanted a different gameplay interaction than just rowing.
If you continue with the game, I feel like the game is begging for a voice-over; a gruff, gnarled pirate guy would really sell the already-strong atmosphere :) great job!
Appreciate the feedback! We'll definitely take that into consideration moving forward.
Amazing art! You guys did a great job!
Thanks!
Love it! The atmosphere you've achieved through the visuals, the story and the music+sounds is amazing! It's a pity you couldn't finish it, I wish a fast recovery for your team member!
Thanks! And it'll be finished soon, we promise!
Amazing game, art & execution!
Thanks!
