The only problem I felt was that it was always shooting at the center of the screen instead of the front...
Made it harder to hit enemies...
And it seems you gain a single shield point if you hit a alien UFO with your own spaceship
This is a certified classic arcade game. The graphics and audio gave it more charm and compliments the classic style. Even the title page look like it came from an old book.
My only problem is aiming. I think you forgot to add a crosshair.
Also that parallax background is so wooow. Good work overall.
This was pretty fun! The little explosion as a UFO was hit and taken down was very satisfying -- and I loved the little "pew pew" as your aircraft shot lasers into the sky. The game loop is very clear and easy to understand -- nice work!
The graphics look super good!! I also didn't find a huge problem with the perspective, but I did find it weird how I was shooting from the sides of my ship and not the middle. I had a fun time :D
As far as aiming, the perspective didn't bug me much, like many of the comments have said. I think it was just lacking some sort of indicator that let you know you are actually hitting something. Maybe a simple blink or slight color change when you damage the enemy would do the trick. Nice clean game!
As everyone said in the comments, the perspective made really hard to aim, and the clouds are a bit annoying (despite being a game mechanic).
Maybe aiming with the mouse could solve the perspective problem?
Anyway, great job.
A very interesting game using that perspective, aiming was a little tough but fun game
Interesting idea with the perspective, did find it a little hard to tell where I was aiming, so some sort of indicator or crosshair might help. I like the variation between the different levels and the obstacles they bring. Good job!
I like the opening music! It would be nice to hear during the gameplay. I found the perspective challenging in regards to aiming. Maybe there could be a little crosshair to indicate where the shots were going? Anything to help give a sense of perspective. I liked the different level designs, too. Nice work!
