Give a quick overview of your game
Plank Plunder is a wave survival raft-building game where players scavenge floating debris to construct and fortify their rafts. My spin on the theme was leaning towards a tropical summer feeling setting. I kind of incorporated the optional theme, because, if you really stretch the definition, a raft could be considered an island. I unfortunately had to leave for a trip before the deadline, so the game isn't in the exact state I would like it to be in, so expect bugs and balancing issues. I had a really fun time working on this game and I hope to participate in another one of these jams again.

Really neat concept, reminds me of Captain Forever which I played a lot.
If you continue working on it I would suggest including a short tutorial, or more explanations when hovering over UI or game objects.
Thanks for playing! An update is in the works and the features you mentioned are already in the game, so stay tuned for that!
Very cool game. The music made me feel like a real pirate :D The art and sound effects were also very cool. I agree with Pencil Nexus, the game seems quite difficult to me, too. But i loved the building mechanics and just being a pirate :D
thanks for playing!
Very solid gameplay loop. I really love the art. The effects on the water and the simple designs of the raft and shop were very well executed. This might be a skill issue, lol, but I found it quite difficult to deal with enemies at times, and dying was pretty quick. Overall, pretty solid experience. I can see this being expanded upon. Great work!
thanks for playing! There are for sure some balancing issues that I need to take care of, one thing I plan on doing is revamping the shop to make it a safe area, so that should probably help out with difficulty. I also plan on increasing time in between waves as well as making waves only happen once every enemy is dead.

I loved it, played it for a long time, simple and very effective. If you plan on continuing this project the first thing I'd do would be to add shortcut to object in builing mode so I can quickly add stuff to my ship (at the end of my last game my boat was so huge I had 600hp and the game was so zoomed out, I could barely read the shop sign ahah)
thanks for playing! Could you explain what you mean by shortcut? Like a key press that would auto place cannons and oars? I want to try to make this project as good as possible before moving on to other jams, so all feedback is appreciated. Thanks again for playing!
I love this game. its as simple as that, my only recommendation is that you add a safe area and give more instruction to the player about the mechanics of the game. You can do this in the pause menu or something. 5 stars for enjoyment and 5 stars for the them!
thank you so much! I’m glad you liked the game :) I do plan on doing a post jam content update so I’ll add the safe area to the list of things to add.
Gameplay loop is nice! Will definitely play some more later on
Kind of tricky to know what I should be doing at first but I eventually got to it!
thanks for playing! A tutorial is defiantly on my to-do list

A nice framework to a game, id love to see it polished up!
thanks for playing!
i love the ui that kinda of games that i loved playing in the flash era nostalogic good game i felt maybe that you can make attacking the boats to be much better but that ok
yeah the attacking definitely could have been done better, one thing that I wanted to add was knockback to the cannons, but I ran out of time. Post jam update will have better game juice for sure
Loved your game, I saw that you posted on discord group was just waiting for that, good job!
I would love if you could rate my game as well thank you :)
thanks for playing! I’d love to play your game but I had to leave on a trip so I don’t have access to my computer, but I’m looking forward to give it a shot!
I really enjoy the game comcept! I had some trouble figuring out how to use things I bought from the shop, but I got it eventually :) I did run into one bug when trying to use a paddle I bought I was attacked, so I exited the build mode, but then I couldn't move anymore, just turn and shoot.
I ran into that bug while testing as well. I had to leave a couple days before submission so I didn’t get the chance to iron it out most of the bugs I wanted to. I plan on doing a post jam update just to fix up all of the stuff and add some more content in a couple days.
