The game has a nice spin as a sudoku-type game. It was challenging working through the days, but rewarding once you got some good planning going. A very fun and cute game!

I didn't think of it much as sudoku, but rather as tile-laying (boardgame) inspired but I can see the connection. Glad that you found it rewarding 🙂

This was a blast to play! I loved the gameplay loop, and the increasing difficulty really made this a really nice game. Very high marks, and in the words of Adam Driver, "Good soup!"

Happy to hear that. My initial pass was way too hard, though I was playtesting super sleepy at around 3 AM and made it way more relaxed during that only full-session playtest and I was afraid if the difficulty still wasn't out-of-whack.

the artstyle is so pretty ! id would love to get some sounds that would make the game play more interactable but the overall game idea and meachanic were great!

Developer

Yeah, the complete lack of audio definitely hurts the game, but I just didn't get to it. I'm still terrible at planning jams... 😅

That was a blast! I am a little exhausted from it. It was very challenging, and kept me on my toes, but I only failed 1 day. I loved how different each level felt. I also like that they didnt just get harder. It was nice to go from a complex shaped day to like all straight lines and be like 'oh I got this'. It gave me the break I needed to keep going. Also it was beautiful and well designed. Nice job!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words and for playing the whole thing. Failed 1 day as in couldn't beat the final day or failed just once? I'm happy to hear the variety I designed it for came thru 🙂

To be honest I didn't expect most people would play thru all the levels as that just takes too long for a jam game but that came thru only once I actually playtested the whole thing.

I only failed once. Unfortunately the game froze when I was on level 8 I think, so I never got to see the boss :(

Developer (1 edit)

Sorry about that, wonder why it froze 🤨.  Anyway, you should be able to just refresh the page to pick up where you left off.
Or if you just wanna see the boss you could enter

localStorage.setItem('rusty_lvl', 9)

to the browser devtools console and refresh to get to the boss lvl.

Overall is good. The artwork is cozy, and the unique puzzle gameplay. Keep up the good work!
