It's a really cool concept and once you get the hang of it, exploring the area and interacting with consoles can be pretty fun. The biggest problems I had was with polish. At first I thought the game was unplayable because no matter where I clicked on the console it wouldn't let me start typing but I was able to get it to work on a different browser. That said, it really would have been nice to have the text field auto-focus when you brought up the console as it was always a pace killer to try to start typing and then remember that I had to click first. With a little touch ups like that though, I think you could go pretty far with this idea if you wanted to.
I really like the idea of a stealth game where you hack terminals remotely. Avoiding the cameras and getting to a new terminal was fun, but I found the actual hacking very tedious. Having to list the files and type "encrypt door_access" over and over got old fast. A good idea for a game; just needs more depth and polish.
I liked the mechanic though it felt a little one dimensional and there wasn't much to keep me going while the game started to open up into the more interesting puzzles. In a non-jam setting I think I'd have bounced off pretty quick. Style was good though and music would have made the early minutes more pleasant.
A huge thing that would make it way less friction would be to auto-focus the text area when you open your terminal.
Very nifty game! I kept leaving my hacker bug in the terminal so I had to keep backtracking lol. I could see why you'd have that mechanic if you'd have to hack remotely in some parts.
I like the isometric game style. If you add some music the overall feeling could be improved by nearly no efford. I understood how to interact with the computer but I gave up as it was to much effort to find out how to progress for a 15 minute break timeframe. I suggest you should make the first incentivization of game progress much easier to motivate someone to come back and spend more time. Maybe it's a really good game and I gave up early.
I'd love to try but I can't type anything
Enjoyed solving the puzzles :) But the black-ice gave me a hard time :D
I can't type anything into the console
oh sorry, I should have made that easier. you need to click on the field, right of the colon, to be able to type.
