A Java game what a pleasant surprise. I drilled a lot killed and destroyed some drones. The art style is nice and clean. I liked it a lot.

Thanks for sharing.

Developer

yeah i made this game in the processing api, probably should put that in the credits now that i think about it.

it's mostly because processing is the only coding language that i understand and i am bad with game engines.

"expedition complete shutting down connextion"

After I realized I could keep 'Q' pressed it flowed and I had ton of fun playing the game.

I dig the presentation, the art is super cool.

Movement is not perfect, you kind of have to time your button presses to move smoothly. It's also a bit slow but I guess it have to be because of how enemies work.

The concept works and the provided map is exactly what you need to progress. I really like that the enemies are vicious.

After finishing the first level I feared the game would get repetitive but the 4 levels are actually quite good, for example from the 3rd one I started to appreciate building walls, while before that I did not see the point. In the end I think the scope you went for is perfect.

Congratulations.

I really like the concept behind this.  The main thing I think needs a tweak is the timing.  The time it took to drill, and the gap between being able to move took slightly too long IMO.

Also, my screen was too short to see the bottom of the screen, so it took me a while to realize the drill had warm-up.  A full-screen option would be handy.

I liked the graphics of the over world (outer vacuum?), and the spinning and sparking animation on the drill was well-done.

Drilling, huh? Drilling everything got a little samey after a while.

Interstellar dentist, the game.

It was an interesting entry.

I think this year I've played more underwater than space crawlers, so its nice to see a space one.

I see the duality of metal and flesh.

The prolog did set me up for something more exciting than what I got, tho.

It was a bit hard to navigate, but I liked the premise. The map was helpful and not too helpful, haha, least it gave me an idea of where I should look. You have a good game base here.

I really like that biopunk aesthetic you went with. That old school flash game look also really takes me back.

Movement options were really lacking however, no strafing and no moving back makes it quite tedious to navigate. It's a bit rough around the edges but a lot of work seems to have gone into making this entirely 2D.

Clean entry overall honestly, nice job

I like the background and the hand drawn aesthetic. It definitely gives old school flash games vibes. I have found it to be disorienting at times, because the sprites just repeat. Other than that a good entry and an interesting take on the classic dungeon crawler. :)
