Good Game

This is probably the most ambitious game I've played by far! The visuals are gorgeous, and doctor KnowItAll is such an incredible way to communicate to the player while also getting a good chuckle out of me. Some iFrames would help, as I went from full health to 0 by getting stuck in the wrong place sometimes, where having a second to recover would've been great. The bullet hell experience felt super fun and driving, but the level transitions definitely could do with some polish as they kind of took me out of the experience a little. Also, the camera panning in the direction of the mouse slightly I feel could help the game feel more alive, and allow the player to look where they are going and anticipate better. Other than that though, the gameplay felt super tight and fun, and I had a great experience overall. Great job!

Developer

Thank you, and thank you for playing the game. I agree the transitions could have been better, but due to time constraints, I couldn't fix them. Also, some gameplay tweaks could have made it more streamlined.

It looked like a serios game - gorgeous graphics. But it was unplayable :(. I was shooting the viruses from both weapons and nothing happened, they killed me + the patient. I tried to outrun them but they were two there, I was not able to reach the injection - if it was even the cure. I did not found anything to get through the blocked path. It did not feel as a fair-play. The messages were not out of the time running up :( and they was too swift to read at first opening (including the intro). They disapeared after being told, so it was not possible to reread them with just one opening (note that I am a quick reader). Fun 1 / 5 (I am open to raise rating of this if I got at least an explanation over my complaints noted above). Art + Graphics: 5 / 5 (wow!:)) and Audio 4 / 5 (and I am totally tolerant). Originality 5 / 5, but it was OUTSIDE IN and not inside ot as the theme was set, therefore Theme 1 / 5.

Feel free to try, rate and comment what I submitted - a physical (!) game made by my life Partner.

My feedback for Nano Defender:

What the game does well:

The player actions are responsive.

The dialog objects do a good job of teaching the player how to play in the early levels.

What the game doesn't do well:

The ship's movement versus hostile projectiles; There's a lot of projectiles (especially the bacteria) and the ship movement remains constant. The problem here is with how fast the ship moves with no way to move more precisely

Areas of Opportunity:

While the game does really well of incorporating the 'inside' part of the theme, I believe more can be done to support the 'out' part.

To improve the movement you can do one of two things: 1) add Gamepad support so that the ship's movement is analog and not digital or 2) lower the ship's movement so that more precise dodging is a viable strategy for defending oneself.

I hope this feedback helps!

First of all, thank you for taking the time to give me feedback, much appreciated! There is gamepad support, but I didn't have time to add that to the tutorial. Yeah, making the movement a bit slower for beter precision is a good idea.

Fun game, I really liked the screen warp effect although it gave me a bit of motion sickness when I moved too fast.  Was really hoping for a final boss fight, it felt like it was building to something big and then it ended.

Developer

Yea I was until the time ran out haha, sorry it gave you a bit of motion sickness, and thank you for playing my game.

Nice game. A few technical glitches but pretty fun. Found the reading at the beginning to be a little long. Good job!

Seemed like the shooting mechanism was stuck at times but might have been me.
