Simple but really fun game!! I like the roguelike style than the game have!! Good job :D For things for improve, maybe reduce the enemy spawn because it really spawns a lot of them, try to add implementations to other services such as YouTube and make the possibility to rebind the controllers, for the rest the game is really fun to play!! Good luck working on it!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! YouTube integration is on our to-do list :)

Rebinding the controller is something we want to get to, but it'll probably be a little later in the pipeline. For now, even though it says "gamepad A", the other buttons also work, so hopefully that'll be a good-enough workaround until we get a proper rebinding UI/tool built.

Balancing the enemy spawn, their hp etc is definitely something we'll investigate more, thanks!

You’re welcome!! Oh okay, I understand And yes, for now is not really neccesary, but maybe in the future will be really helpful Good luck working on the game!!

It's kind of ridiculous how much fun Feisty Fauna is! The dialogue is hilarious, the artwork is cute, and the sound effects are ADORABLE!!! We loved the co-op mode AND the story mode. It was really easy to get into this game because it's fun right from the beginning and the controls are super easy and intuitive. The difficulty levels seem right on point as well.

If we have any constructive criticism for the game it would be that the menus could use a little more explanation and the pre-attack indicators could be made to be a little more eye-catching as they currently blend in among the "fog of war". Maybe something as simple as a thin black outline would help with that.

Also, it ran flawlessly with our Logitech controllers and the system resource requirements were good and light. Definitely a great game for the solo player or the whole family. Absolutely top notch work!

Thanks for playing, I'm glad both of you had lots of fun! I especially loved how you said the same things Peppermint did before she said it :)

Using a thin black outline is a good idea, we'll try that out, thanks!

Pros

Nick: A kidsy vampire survivors with couch co op is a million dollar idea. Not sure why we haven't seen it until now. Sounds and overall theme are very endearing.

Ryan: Its cute. its fun

Cons

Nick: Screen gets very busy with all of the telegraphed attack warnings. Most weapons feem so outside of my control i essentially have no agency at all. the orbs were easy to use and it would be nice to feel that way about any of the other attacks.

Ryan: In a game with pursuing enemiesm its surprising there is little to no crowd control abilities. May be too many enemies as the game progresses.

Wishes

Nick: More characters. Couldn't figure out how to do dual controller instead of 1 controller, 1 mouse + keyboard.

Ryan: No additional wishes.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Having more "controllable" attacks and crowd control abilities makes sense, we'll think more about those, thanks!

It should be possible to play with 2 controllers, I think our UI for that screen has lots of room for improvement :)

A overall fun and engaging experience, enemies can hurt if they rack up enough damage over time, most noticeable with the fire enemies, but otherwise somewhat do little damage(Situational). From the two characters that I had played, I noticed a distinct different in power. This can be a positive and negative depending on who's asking, but perhaps some balance changes there are needed. Twitch integration was a great addition, and definitely makes the game more engaging for both the streamer and viewer. Some additions such as cosmetics, lore(such as secrets or hints), access to the coop, and base customization would be nice to see. It's a very homey feeling game, and that adds a nice coziness to the genre making it feel different from the other vampire survivor esc games. In the campaign, during the level select, maybe add the option to go to a shop. Shops could have in game buffs for coins, that are stronger than the owl ones, but aren't permanent; Or you could have the shop be where you get the cosmetics in question, so you have to play in order to buy things from the shop if you want collectables.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! I love the idea of being able to spend coins on cosmetics, so that'll be something I'll definitely add into the game :) Having a shop in the campaign map is a nice idea, I'll think on it more. Thanks!

Thanks for being there for the stream!  Twitch Integration was really cool!  Really fun gameplay loop, great artwork - the animals are so cute!  The story is told very well, and it keeps you engaged.  I want to know more!

I think it might be beneficial to make it a bit more obvious that you can purchase upgrades via the Owl.  I was talking to everyone, but I almost forgot to and would have missed out on that.  The other suggestion I had was more grass for the grasslands, make the enemy attacks(the red line/cone) a bit brighter/more red or something similar, mini-bosses possibly a different color/pattern to help set them apart as a mini boss and not just a larger version of the enemies.

I enjoyed classic mode, but the Campaign mode of choosing the levels I'd progress in was my favorite way to play the game!  I'll recut a video for Youtube and feature it on my channel as well.

Your daughter's sound effects were spot-on and absolutely adorable.

Overall it was a blast to play and the game looks and plays great!
