  • Interesting mechanics. Sadly I couldnt pass the first enemy room, they were really hard to kill and a lot stronger than my own people, I wasnt sure if I had my equipement properly equiped, maybe not. Idk, I didnt understand what I was doing wrong.

Did you work alone, or as part of a group? (If in a group, list their names)
Alone

Disclose if you used any public domain assets or not.
Yes, kenney's assets for art and sfx, music from Abstraction

I don't know if I'm the biggest fan of games where you manage an army, but I thought it was still well-done and I like its commitment to the retro style. The biggest issue I could find was a glitch where units don't disappear from format menu when they die.

When I saw this tileset, I immediately wanted to make an Ultima inspired game with this. I even used it to prototype my game jam entry with it. You took it and RAN with it though. the gameplay is decidedly old-school which I can appreciate. Inventory management, tile-based movement, bump combat. Yeah it's archaic I suppose, but it scratches an itch for me. More please!

very interesting idea. The movement is a little bit buggy. Overall still great game

Really nice, The art direction is great!

Gameplay is cool and i think this could be expanded if you were to continue it!

Nice work!

It's an interesting idea, but it needs a lot of polish. The best part is the art and how the characters change when equipped. The movement is really wonky and slow. It would have been better that the characters run at the enemy and attack them rather than move as a whole and you have to move into the enemies. Having to go through the characters to equip them one by one is tedious. One equipment slot per character would have been enough. Sometimes characters in the formation tab would disappear for some reason when moving them.

Another roguelike! I really enjoyed your game, I was able to beat it on the second try. Overall I found it really clean and polished, and I love the concept of optimizing my formation using random gear before battling it out in the next room. I think there is a lot of potential for a bigger game here!

Alternating between the inventory and formation menus was a bit fiddly, and the dead party members do not disappear from the formation menu before you try to rearrange them, but besides that it was a smooth and very pleasant experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing the game; it evoked nostalgic memories of classic dungeon crawler games. A truly solid game!

Really dig the concept here! You can never do too much with quality of life on anything tactical or management-related, and while I really appreciated the straightforward menus, the movement felt pretty clunky without feeling like it created interesting problems to solve in itself.  Excellent game overall, ended exactly when I was starting to think about moving on to the next game lmao
