Holy shit alright -- haha! Really captures the power of tectonic forces. Rules? What rules!? You've earnt that completion rating.
Your synths are great man, that stutter-esque effect feels like controlled randomness or incidental rhythm. Love the airy pads/noise that fades in and out--there's a gorgeous one you isolate at the end. Well done!!
HELL YEA! for some reason i thought i broke the rules and followed the rules at the same time since the piece was as you say "controlled randomness" with "incidental rhythm". Its been a step in the right direction for my journey to create generative music and then live stream all the songs the algorithm i setup creates. Let it run for a month and then post self-generating patch in a ost game jam 🤪. i digress Thanks for noticing the ending, was afraid most people would not have the patience for the payout.
Thanks!
An interesting piece. I like the the crackling drone and the pads were nice. The screech providing the rhythm was a cool touch, though I felt it was a bit too prominent throughout... perhaps an oscillator on the volume could've provided some moments to focus on the pads? The most interesting moments IMO were those warning sounds that popped up every now and then.
Noted, will tone down the screeching (pun intended). I guess i went ear blind to it while listening, i toned it down during production but should have done so more. Thanks for the feedback!
This entry stands out in a very cool way and I especially appreciate the visuals of you playing with settings to go along with the soundscape. Your storytelling seems to play such a significant role in the appreciation of this piece, which has me wondering if it could be even more explicitly integrated into the track using also very processed voice-over audio. I feel very inspired after watching to try and start using my guitar pedals for this type of production/application as well!
Many thanks, glad you felt inspired, please do try it! i find that non-producers need the human element to identify with art, so adding a voice over would be wise. Still working on better integrating a human element to my visuals. But one could argue everything we do is an effort to tell a story. How you tell it, determines who can hear it.
your gear is chaotically beautiful
thx
i try to be consistent with my chaos
Some good control over the modular here to create some very discordant/atonal and chaotic sounds that feel very controlled and do have a feeling of melody/rhythm
Thank you,
i try to walk that fine line between music and noise in my composition.
that is interesting modular piece you created there :D It has chaos but also a pattern and some harmony
Thx, i relish the opportunity to walk that fine line between music and noise.
Wow, love the way u break the rules. 🔥🤯
Thank you, plan to explore this concept of stories and music.
