thank you for listening and glad you enjoyed!

yeah I didn't really consider the story as something worth focusing on but after seeing the effort others put in it definitely felt it would have been worthwhile!

thank you!

no problem! :)

thank you v much for listening and especially thank you for the feedback! will definitely pay attention to that in future.

glad you enjoyed :)

oh wow, that sounds very stressful!

i'm glad you still managed to turn out something good despite all your technical issues, I can't say I noticed it having any kind of negative effect! sounded great to me on my big speakers.

thank you so much!

Flute melody on that first track is fantastic!

Really like the way you've created a distinctly different two halves of the soundtrack to show the difference in locations but kept it all feeling like one soundtrack.

Great use of the drum break and nicely chopped. Drums throughout have a really nice bounce and groove to them.

Some very nice chord progressions, basslines and melodies throughout also.

thank you v much :)

The artwork you used for this instantly caught my eye and had me intrigued.

Main Menu track feels very appropriate and very nicely put together.

Hiding and Pursuit has exactly the right threatening and menacing atmosphere, very Silent Hill but not too much of a pastiche.

As I've said on another survival horror entry, a key element to survival horror is a good save room track and you definitely didn't disappoint with yours, very nice calming instruments with a hint of menace from the noise underneath.

Becoming yourself really nails that emotional moment of adversity towards the end feeling.

The final two tracks also really capture that feeling of love and release from torment perfectly.

All in all great work throughout, good use of noise & ambience and synthetic & orchestral instruments to create just the right vibe throughout, as well as some very nice musical ideas, melodies and harmony.

Very nice trio of tracks! Very well done for getting them done in such a short space of time.

Can definitely hear both the ocean and especially the east asian influence very strongly, reminded me of quite a few soundtracks from japanese games (or those very inspired by japanese games) from the early 00s up to now.

Would agree with what others have said about URGENT MISSION being considerably louder than the other two as I'm sure you're now aware. But I did also really like the approach you took with it, feels very dramatic and tense whilst also being very elegant and gliding.

Both the other tracks were very good too though.

thank you so much!!

Really nice sounds throughout and completely nailed the theme.

Can really hear the influence from Joe Hisaishi & the indie games you mentioned but doesn't feel you borrowed from them too heavily.

Some very nice sound design throughout.

Really great pair of tracks!!

Great use of orchestral sounds in both but also great creative bending and manipulation of them into new sounds and  textures, also really like the heavy use of vocal sounds.

The first track has a great dreamy feel whilst also feeling very sinister and uneasy.

Second track is brilliantly dramatic! Love the intensity and all of the creative processing to elevate it.

Really like the flutes/woodwind on this, as well as the smooth movements through subtle changes in mood in each track.

A real nice balance throughout between the innocent and child-like feelings and the underlying sense of tragedy or sorrow. Which fits the narrative you've described perfectly.

My World Is Shifting was probably my favourite, really liked the use of traditional eastern instruments!

Really got that snes-era sound!

Some beautiful melodies, motifs & harmony. Great sound selection/design.

Very cold and wintery music, full of emotion.

Some nice composition with good use of the orchestra & instruments. Very nicely mixed too. Especially like the use of strings & mallet instruments.

some absolutely beautiful music here throughout, love the sound design/selection, percussion, melodies and everything to be honest!

completely fits both the theme and the kind of game you've described, each track is also perfect for its title.

can really hear your influences shining through nicely too whilst still retaining your own musical identity.

good job with the mix on all the tracks also.

impossible to pick a favourite!

really like this, some great sound design, in a quite a few places you've got sounds that evoke that early vgm/chiptune aesthetic but with a really nice extra layer of modern depth and richness that makes them really satisfying to listen to.

you've also got a good variety of different sound palettes here between tracks whilst still retaining a feeling of coherency.

you've managed to get a really nice full and dense sound throughout without ever using so many different elements that it ever feels cluttered or overly busy, in fact quite minimal in a lot of places.

some very nice attention to the extra details with all of the sweeps and FX that often take a very centre stage role without being distracting or feeling in the way of the more melodic elements.

I think the first track is probably my favourite, the way you build upon that very simple piano and synth part about half way through just sounded really good, not to say I didn't really enjoy the rest either.

thank you :)

tysm!!

thank you so much for such a detailed write up!

the clock ticking in the first track is actually the same one from CT, I just re-pitched it to give it more of a "tick-tock" feel than it has in the original track.

i'm really happy to hear you liked everything so much! :)

ahhh you're one of the few whose known where I took my name from!

thank you v much for the track by track feedback :)

thank you!!

thank you v much! :)

Yeah sure!

Easiest thing to do first is to just compare your track to a few existing ones you know and like in the same style as yours and see if they're around the same volume, then make yours louder if they're not (and then also any others ones you're releasing it alongside if that's the case).

Then if you're still finding your stuff isn't sounding loud enough but you're hitting 0 on the meter in your DAW and getting clipping, use a limiter to prevent the clipping.

From there you probably want to look into using compression, limiting and saturation in general to increase how loud it sounds if you still need an extra boost. I'm pretty sure you'll already have at least one compressor and limiter in Reaper, not as sure about saturation but there's probably something :)

This really has that indie horror-jrpg sound! A perfect balance of playful and spooky.

Great use of the strings throughout especially, the woodwinds are also very nice.

Really fits the story you described as well.

thank you! :)

Some really nice and gentle music throughout but still with plenty of stuff to hold your attention.

Really liked the sound palette you used and your approach to melody + harmony & etc.

I did think the soundtrack as a whole was quite quiet? I had to turn up my speakers a lot more than I have with most other submissions to hear it clearly, but within the tracks themselves they was a good balance between instruments and all the tracks felt at a similar volume level to each other.

Really like this one, you've really captured the sound of a lo-fi horror game with strong influence from older survival horror titles. Nobody hears you pray especially captures that Silent Hill feeling but adapting it to fit nicely with the sound of the rest of the soundtrack.

Great sound design throughout. Love the synths, the menacing walls of noise and percussion.

A great save room track is one of the keys to a great survival horror for me and you've really got that down.

Also love the inclusion of a shooting mini game track.

Great to hear something drawing inspiration from some of the best areas of dance music.

Love how you've grabbed sounds and styles from a bunch of different places and put it together into something that feels very coherent and also like a soundtrack.

Can't really pick out a favourite, all great stuff!

Fantastic use of the various mechanical sounds, field recordings, sfx and things of that nature, really creative!

Completely fits your narrative and the theme.

Love the little melodies, motifs and percussive elements you bend the sounds into and the way you develop the pieces as they go on, very well composed throughout, great use of space/rests/silence too.

This is beautiful!

Great combination of ambient & classical/orchestral sounds, as well as the other inspirations you've drawn from.

Hard to pick out a track a track as a favourite, you've gone in an interesting and creative direction on all of them whilst keeping the soundtrack still feeling very coherent.

Nice blend of ambient, orchestral and synthwavey sounds here!

Like others have said sounds quite reminiscent of Lena Raine and particularly Celeste, which is definitely a good area to be in. Still feels uniquely yours as well though.

Nice take on the theme here.

The three tracks definitely feel appropriate for a child's bedroom and a hub world, they have just the right amount of playful and are nice variations on a theme. I especially like the inclusion of the "la la" vocal sample. The final one feels quite sinister, I assume the game will be taking a dark turn by that point. Nice reuse of the melody in that context, it being so child-like makes it extra ominous in that context.

Final two tracks do a little a little disconnected from the first three but I feel like they're not so far that in the context of a full soundtrack they would feel out of place, they still have a similar sort of feeling despite that. I especially like the eerie mood you got on The Heart Of It All, that one may be my favourite.

Love the groove and funk on this like everyone else!

I like that you managed to carry that over and have the solo piano piece feel consistent with the others.

Great drums especially but some nice synth sounds too that sort of evoke a chiptune sound but with a more updated feel.

Some very pretty and beautifully composed music!

I love the area of JRPG soundtracks you've been inspired by and you've really grabbed the essence of it whilst making it your own.

Especially impressive for 4 days, would have assumed you had the entire time period to work on this.

thank you v much, glad you enjoyed! :)
