Extra?
This is a submission for "Friendly Music Jam 3 - Break the Rules" wherein participants are invited to take inspiration from a picture of a mountain range with a steaming volcano. There was also an optional "break the rules" challenge, but I disregarded that part of the jam.

I focused on the volcano for my inspiration and it occurred to me that most volcano/fire level themes from games I'm familiar with feature the bass prominently (Golden Sun's "Magma Rock" and Sonic Adventures "Red Hot Skull (Red Mountain)" songs come to mind), so I wanted to put an emphasis on the bass (hence 3 of them, often layered).

As for the artwork, I happened to be watching a hockey pre-game show while considering what to draw for the cover. Hence, lava hockey.

i love the different bass sounds! and the synth wind instruments really add to the volcanic theme

Yesss the bass is definitely my favorite part here. The combination of sounds and rhythms is very impressive and so so appropriate for a lava level. Great work!

The production and rhythm timing discipline is top notch, in addition the different sections it goes through shift the mood around enough to be in line with the breaking the rules theme.

Pretty happy with this well done.

I love the melodies in this and it has a super cool fun vibe overall. I loved how jazzy it was at times, those little jazzy notes and turns in the melody were definitely my favorite parts.

Love the change at the minute mark very catchy!!

Some very cool and emotive melodies/basslines in this

You managed to pack a lot into just under 2 minutes but it all works together nicely and nothing feels rushed past

Can definitely hear the volcano/fire level sound!

I know you mentioned scrapping the first theme but I definitely see a lot of rule breaking.  and thank you for mention plugins used, curious where you applied each plugin just so i can listen for it in the mix. But the frequencies of each instrument are well separated and good clarity.

I like all the changes that happen in the track, lots of creative work in less than 2 minutes. It does feel like a lava level and the bass is definitely central, while not obscuring the other instruments. It's especially nice where it has a 303 kinda sound, which feels very "lava"

This gives a nice groove and I like the melodies a lot! For me the lead sound could be a bit more in the back.
