I'm a 3D animator looking to join a team experience in Unreal! I'd work with a character modeler to create great-looking animations on any character! I've done 11 game jams in various roles - I want to focus exclusively on animation and in-engine implementation

I was boppin 😄

That description describes the game perfectly, I just meant that it's a unique game concept. When someone hears "memorize your way through a maze," they might respond "there is no hope and I will instantly get lost."

That's why I was pleasantly surprised by how well I did. It was fun to learn I can do that 😄

Pro strat! Focus all your attention on the shooters when they come in, then deal with the chasers afterward!

I can appreciate a good soup-diving game, believe me. As someone with a knack for soup diving, I couldn't resist. Keep soupin' it up 👊😎

This was interesting and had me using my brain a bit to figure out the mechanics, which I enjoyed. The puzzle aspects were intriguing, which was my favorite part of the game. I like how I had to learn everything myself instead of through tutorials.

And I was vibin' with the music! The tracks were cool and surprisingly fun to listen to 😁

High score 14! This was a pleasant surprise. The game sounds odd based on the description. I don't normally get very far into memory-based challenges, but I surprised myself! I found myself naming parts of the level and getting more consistent, which was pretty satisfying and it felt like a genuine accomplishment every time I started getting further. It was oddly rewarding 😄

It was also nicely polished and felt balanced and fair. All-around well-executed. It took me a while to realize it's high-score based and there's no finish. I definitely would've pushed myself harder if I knew it was beatable.

This was a cool, satisfying experiment! I'd love your thoughts on my game if you get a chance 😊

Wow, sounds like you had a great time playing, glad to hear that 😁

We spent so much time getting the Force Field mechanic right, so we ended up rushing some systems near the end (including checkpoints). But I'm glad you were able to get to know the game well enough to enjoy our experimental mechanic 😀

The Force Field graphics are GPU based, which is probably why they didn't render properly on your OS. Maybe that also caused problems with the checkpoints?

Either way, thank you for spending time in our world and taking time to leave some meaningful feedback! It means a lot to me personally 😄

Great feedback! We had planned for a nice tutorial just like what you're describing, as well as a better explanation of the objective, but ran out of time to create those...

But it's clear that you saw the vision of the game! I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Clean! All around well-polished. Simple and effective execution. Great characters, fun little story. High marks for this one!

This was a really cool experience. I very much enjoyed how interactive the puzzles were, how I had to figure out what to do by reading and paying attention. The atmosphere was awesome and I really enjoyed the world and the models (even though everything was white... I thought it was cool). I loved the effects. It's really impressive the way the water effects interact with the game events. All of the interactions were technically impressive.

As an effects artist, I would've really enjoyed working with you 😄

I struggled with two things: 1. I didn't know what pressure to use when balancing the pressure (they're all supposed to point upward). I figured it out eventually with trial and error. And I didn't know the manual had more pages, so I struggled with the battery for a while 😅

All in all, a really cool puzzle experience. You share a lot of design philosophies with me - I'd honestly love to work on a project with you sometime!

The world was mysterious and intriguing. The music and atmosphere really set the tone. The visuals look cool and I liked the effects and rendering. the game felt nostalgic. The main character was interesting and felt pretty good to control.

I liked the setting, and all around it was a pretty cool experience.

We planned for a full tutorial and more guidance, but we didn't have time to get everything in unfortunately. But I'm glad you had fun with the game and thank you for playing! 😄

We have a button to erase them, we just forvot to put it in the controls! 😅 And the single bounce is a great idea. We probably would have used that if you had played tested the game before  launch.

Glad you had fun and are able to figure it out despite the lack of a tutorial. Thanks for playing!

Did someone hijack my comment?! XD lol. interesting way to get attention in a jam. Never seen that before...

I've NEVER heard a game use music with this type of hip-hop vibe! Why!? It sounds so good! I love the music! Thank you for this!

Wow, lots of very kind words! Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience. Thoughtful comments like this really mean a lot.

I'm very glad you enjoyed the game so much! Our team took a lot of pride in the experience we crafted. We didn't have time to refine all of the design of all the different parts of the game. But there were a few aspects that we put a lot of time and attention into, and those things seemed to help the game shine. It makes me happy to hear about what parts were meaningful to you.

I'm not sure what comes next, but I'd like to continue making exploration games like this. Feel free to follow me or my teammates if you want to see what we do next. More game jams and other projects coming soon!

The visuals are so beautiful and polished! Everything in sight looks amazing! Love the UI!

I'm trying to learn about how to make my games look beautiful. I'm really inspired by your game and art style. Would you mind sharing with me what kind of post-processing you used? You could reach me on Discord at Jadon#6008. I would be very grateful!

I really love how the game looks. Can you share what VFX and post-processing you used?

Solid puzzle design with interesting use of the main mechanic, which is an excellent use of theme. Had me thinking!

Never played anything like this before. Gripped my attention the whole experience. A very, very nice audio-visual presentation. It was very subjective, but had me laughing the whole time, saying "What!?" Loved it! Very unique and interesting. It's nice to see some personality really come through in a game. Fantastic experience!

Glad you enjoyed it! Great feedback. I wanted to make an infinite mode but didn't really have time to put it together. I'm glad you felt powerful and wanted more of that feeling - that's the feeling I wanted to create. Thanks for playing!

It seemed like this would've been a cool control scheme for a rhythm game. I would've quite enjoyed it if there was music to play along to.

It made me laugh a bunch at the beginning, funny stuff!

The controls and level design were too difficult and I didn't get past the first platform. It might have been kinda fun if it was easier. Thanks for the laughs, though!

Here it is:

Where is this Discord server? I can't find it!

Unfortunately, we weren't able to fix several major bugs that make the game mostly unplayable:

  • Throwing babies does not work
  • Babies take too long to get hungry / tired / bored / etc.
  • Babies cannot enter beds / high chairs / etc.
  • The game over menu is not functional
  • Babies tend to walk against walls instead of wandering
  • Various animation glitches

We hope you can excuse the major bugs and get an idea of what we originally intended this game to be. Enjoy!

I quite like the music and atmosphere. The gameplay was sufficiently difficult and it felt good to complete a level. I had fun!

If I had any feedback, it'd be:
- It might've been helpful to know the range of the tongue. it took some trial and error to learn how much range I had. Maybe that's what you were going for.
- Sometimes it was difficult to move my mouse around so fast, like clicking three things within one second. Maybe if there was more grace for aiming it would help.

My favorite thing about this one was the jazzy soundtrack!

Due to the game's main systems being very bugged at submission, the game is currently in an unplayable state.

We hope you return after the Polish/Bug-Fixing phase to enjoy the intended experience! All of the content is fully created, and the game should be quite enjoyable when it works.

Come back later to enjoy the full game! - Shiba Dog Studios

Thank you for taking the time to play! And thank you for the valuable feedback!

  • It would've been very nice if we could've refined the movement a lot more. With all the game's moving parts, several mechanics didn't get the love they deserved. The player movement and the glider are prime examples.
  • I had a real fight with Unity trying to get a separate camera for the grappling hook. Unity has a very easy way of doing this, but a different member of our team handled rendering stuff, which somehow made Unity's camera overlay system not work at all. I couldn't find a simple solution, so I embraced the wall clipping and moved on!
  • The glider and the grappling hook came later in development, but they originally weren't in the game. The main premise of the game was the maps - but they actually got the least attention XD. I'm glad the movement mechanics were at least functional and did their job, even if they didn't do it so well. Hopefully their inclusion made the game more fun!

Thanks for your feedback! I adore detailed comments like this and I really appreciate you taking the time to share!

"I'm a bit tired of Ubisoft style games where you can turn your brain off while you follow a UI waypoint."

You just described our design philosophy! Thank you for taking the time to play the game and let us know what you thought. I really appreciate knowing what you like about the game. It helps us know that our design decisions worked as intended. I'm glad you had a good time!

I like the idea of the terminal! I like how the game makes you figure things out by yourself, rather than telling you all the answers. And it gives you an interesting tool to investigate and find the answers. Very cool!

Our game for the jam is based on a similar design philosophy. I like how you executed the concept. Maybe you could check it out because I'm curious what you think of it! Traversal. Let me know your thoughts if you get a chance to play it!

Wow! This game is incredibly impressive! Every aspect is super polished and the game look freakin' beautiful!

The movement fell fast and clean and it's super satisfying to dash around. It felt so good to simply move around the world. You did a really good job making the dash feel very smooth.

The visuals were absolutely stunning. The game looks like a full triple-A release. All of the special effects look AMAZING. The lights and particles and gunshots and explosions are all stylized and GORGEOUS. Everything you see is pleasing to the eye!

The combat felt nice. I like the simple weapon types and limited ammo. The 3d modeling and animation are great too. Did you create all these art assets yourself?

There is just too much good to say about this game. The polish is off the charts. I'm so impressed with this game, and if I heard right on Discord, I think you did this solo? Amazing...

Oh, well you did a great job of implementing your own unique system. I played Hades and I didn't make the connection XD

Also, I just noticed from the gifs on the itch page that you can shoot into his back. I didn't realize that during the game and I was only shooting into the top of his head. But it still felt fair though! I'm not bad at FPS games. I'm not a pro either. But the difficulty felt good for me.
