The mine ate my money down to $255! At least I was able to go fishing again. I saw it through to the end...fishing seems to be the only way for poor John to get any real money.

I think the most helpful thing for the player would be to be able to press a button and see the current amount of money you have.

I do have to ask: Is John's wife somewhere else or is she lying in bed the whole time?

I like the the idea of having to make money to be able to see your wife and help her. I hope you are going to flesh this out more or remake it in Godot. Maybe some mini games for making the money would be a good idea to make the game more fun. At the moment it is a bit repetitive.

So we see that you did not have time to finish, and the lack of music is well felt :) . However it's a good base for a more accomplished game afterwards. We can clearly see which screens were made by you, and which not, but it's sure that creating so many assets in 1 week alone would have been impossible... I managed to get 2$ by going to the top of the screen but I didn't have the courage to repeat the maneuver 500 times, and I didn't understand how to go fishing to sell them :) . We would like to see more ;) .

I wanted to see the game through to the end but there was some information that was left out and made it a bit tougher. For example, I assumed that the fishing option was the best way to make money? When I would sell a bulk of fish, it seemed to not have a consistent amount of money I was receiving. It would be nice to know how much I made after selling (it'd also be nice to be able to sell all fish at once).

I managed to get $491 from fishing, so I went to the mine to get the last $9 since the mine seemed to give me $1 every time despite saying that it would be a random amount. Unfortunately, when you interact with the mine, it seems to set a variable instead of adding to it. I had $491 when I went to the mine and then it told me that I now have $255 (I'm assuming because 255 is the cap on a single variable's value). So I basically lost all of that time spent spamming the fishing :(

Oh, and I see that it says you have a certain number of days to collect the money? I might've missed something but it didn't seem like there was any limit on time. I almost collected the $500 without leaving the first day.

wasn't very fun and what was there were from pre-made assets. no music, but the use of the theme was decent.

i would try to make it more obvious to the player what they should be doing or giving hints to where they should be going to to find money. i was pretty lost most of the time.

this concludes my analysis of this entry.
