What a cute looking game. And the music is awesome! :)
Nice arp-y demoscene music. The sound samples were my favorite part. This wasn't GB Studio, was it? Like I said, really loved the sound implementation! (The "Game Over" text animation was neat, too!)
it was gameboy studio!
and thanks :) floppy did a great job with the music, though the current version of the huge tracker has a broken noise channel so it doesnt sound exactly as it should
Huh... I did notice that my .uge files ended up with really messed up drums!
That "You're Fired" sound is hilarious. I have not been able to find the legendary Sample Playback documented anywhere! Is there somewhere I should be looking?
ask anima/sodo dev im cringe at explaining but it requires gbvm at the moment. (though its really not difficult to do it)
I tried again, and I got the "success" screen, but I didn't really understand why at that point? I guess all the raccoons had to be fed :) . Besides the music is good, (which software do you use ?), but the characters are a bit small I think :) . I also think that you had a problem with the timer that scrolls really slowly, but I saw in your description that you had not had time to optimize ;) . Good luck for the Jam.
thanks :D
and yeah, the timer is slow because the game is super laggy. i had to implement an event that checks how many tables are remaining and set the player movement and animation speed accordingly. otherwise the game is unplayable. thats why the framerate is such trash lol without the lag the player would be moving at a speed of 7 lmao
Nice game! I liked the characters and animations. I also the "story" of needing to feed hungry raccoons. As said: the game could use more visual cues and why the two different foods ?The looming threat of getting fired if you're not quick enough or if you're annoying for the customers is a good find.
I loved the character animations!🤠 I got fired from the job though for sure!! What did the boss yell at me? 😵💫😂 I couldn’t understand the dialogue
I saw your description mentioned glitches - I didn't experience any!
I was a little confused at first. I didn't understand what meant a strike and what was considered good until going to the itchio page to read the instructions. Like juzek mentioned, I think a more obvious and large animation for the raccoon customers could help signify this to the player.
The two items were another point of confusion. Was there a purpose to there being a hotdog and a burger? Did it matter which was given or are they the same?
The gameplay itself was very fun, specifically the movement felt great. And the smooth animation was sweet too!
This was fun! The movement was nice and smooth. The character art is great, but the visual cues were a little tough to see. I would have loved to have a little dialogue box with a picture of a burger or hot dog in it floating above the racoons.
The sound is good, and gives your manager a looming presence. (especially when I fail) I would have appreciated a restart option too.
Have you seen Pom Poko?
no i havent seen that :0
and thanks for the feedback! looks like medi doesn't want to go further with this project, however they gave me permission to make a game they wanted to do for a while now. will likely be going through with it after the release of my own game (repugnant bounty) currently starting work on that new project as i wait for gb studio 3.1 to release so theres solid actors in platformer mode
best game 10/10 IGN
this concludes my analysis of this entry.
Lol biased much? but really, I think anyone who was able to make a game for a Game Boy should be proud. It is way harder than I thought it was going to be.
lol
