Art style was pretty good, but the player is very hard to control, especially while air-born. Multiple issues with clipping, which I found sometimes happened when colliding with enemies at a weird angle? The game is also very hard, and I personally couldn't get past the soldier room after the tank room. Maybe consider giving the player more health or making parrying easier.
The art style was unique, enjoyed the variety of different enemy types and multiple different features of the game, surprised to even see that there was a boss in the game
Liked how the tutorial was in the game instead of outside in the menus, made it friendly to beginners even showing the button that needed to be pressed instead of writing it down.
However i kept running into bugs and not even sure how. At times my character would disappear, some other times I can walk through locked doors, sometimes i cant deflect objects back at the tank nor the final boss.
However i really enjoyed the feature where it's basically a teleport and that it would slow down time when you activate it, giving you plenty of time to decide when and where you want to teleport.
Thanks for the Feedback, I've just uploaded an update that should fix a lot of the bugs you where encountering, cheers
I really liked the art style and the in game tutorial and the whole learn as you go approach, I really liked the way they were a part of the world and didn't seem out of place. Overall on the tutorial. I feel this made things easier to grasp seeing the controls and immediately doing them to progress. I encountered a bug early on that stopped progress. In the second room when only one robot spawns on the middle platform, he appeared to spawn in the background and I was unable to damage the robot as well as take damage from it. Here I also found pressing (;) opens the debug menu and allowed me to explore the level. As I again got stuck here on another playthrough I explored the rest of the game through this debug menu. Overall, I like the use of colour to distinguish the different zones and styles and the end room being the toys owner / child room adds to the toys theme which I think was the approach.
I did also find the punches had longer range than you would expect, where the animation ended, there was still a decent distance the punch travelled. Overall the animations where really well done and smooth. I did feel that the robots attack were a bit too slow as I was able to stand in front of them and mash punch until they died.
Also the ability to dash was a nice touch but I did not end up using it in combat and stuck to just punches. If the dash did damage, which it might do but because it didn't seem to do anything to the dummy visually, kinda felt it wouldn't do anything to the robots.
Overall I think the game was well made, both visually and mechanically, and with a couple bug fixes would be really good to play through in its entirety.
Thanks for all the feedback, hopefully we'll be able to fix the bugs mentioned, on the dash ability I definitely agree that it needs more functionality in combat and like the idea of damaging when passing enemies
Hi! I love the art and the mechanics were really cool and unique! Not many teams had features like a dash or reflecting attacks so I felt these stood out really well! I did find this game to be a bit buggy tho but I'm sure with a bit more time and development these would be fixed! Also, I felt the difficulty progression was good however I could not progress past the shooting enemies that appear after the first tank appears to block your path. One of the bugs I encountered (which I'll explain in detail at the end) let me explore the level without enemies and I realized the level was much longer than I thought but unfortunately I could not get to because of the difficulty so maybe the progression could be slowed a tad to be a bit easier? Something else I noticed with the early enemies was that their hitboxes were pretty big and u could defeat a lot of them without being in range of being hit yourself so maybe this could be fixed?
As mentioned before, I found quite a few bugs so I'll list them here in case there's any new ones you hadn't encountered before:
- I found when attacking the robots I would occasionally phase through the level or background and disappear from view but could still move around within the level just not attack or interact with enemies.
- Sometimes the robots would not spawn in and I would be forever trapped within the level.
- The enemy robots would occasionally fall from a platform and get stuck walking back and forth within a small spot on the floor and you can't seem to attack them and they won't attack you.
- Related to the last one, sometimes this would let you phase through the door blocking your path and you can explore the whole level without enemies but somewhere in the darker blue zone you will randomly phase through a wall and enter the void before being transported back to the spot the enemies get stuck walking back and forth in.
Overall tho, I enjoyed this game quite a bit! I think fixing the bugs and maybe making it a tad easier to progress would really help but otherwise I thought it was good! :D
Thanks for all the feedback, definitely of couple of bugs I haven't seen so congrats. hopefully we'll be able to fix these in the future, and on the difficulty, I think some refinement on hit boxes as well changes to when enemies spawn, in the first couple of rooms should help to ease the progression of difficulty, but would be interested if you had any idea's yourself
love the art and the gameplay was fun and nice, I really enjoyed playing however the enemies kept clipping through the floor which kept me in room 1, I restarted the level and eventually got to level 2 but the same thing happened which I was disappointed so when that is fixed I will happily give a new review as I think the game has potential especially mechanics wise :) well done!
Thanks for the feedback, For the time being I've made it that if you get stuck in a room you are able to press L and it should let you progress, if you wanted to try and make it further, but for the future we'll try and fix the bug properly. Cheers
illustrations were unique and pleasant to look at, controls were very responsive, attacks felt nice, I'm not sure if it was just my playthrough but i got stuck on the first room and couldn't get out, i would have added sound effects and music too!
