As it has been said before, very intuitive and enjoyable game. Your concept is efficient and addictive, it kept me trying over and over to get as far as possible , so well done !
Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it :)
Amazing concept! Very original and enjoyable! Keep the hard work :)
Check our game if you have time! :D
Amazing game! Clever and well executed idea. And also - love the art style!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Art isn't my strongest skill, so kind words like that def keep me motivated to keep practising :)
Again thanks for playing.
Excellent. Best theme interpretation I've seen so far. Game is a lot of fun, I've played many times.
Ace, glad you enjoyed it! :)
How far did you get, what's your best score?
Don't remember the exact score but I wasn't very good, so not very far :( . I love a challenge tho, and will probably try it again, Check out my entry if you have some time !
Great design. Very intuitive gameplay. I didn't have to read instruction at all. Great job!
Awesome audio. Little short but catchy tune.
Flow of game feels a bit slow. Maybe speeding up a background a bit would help to fell more like bike ride.
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah, the very slow bike thing kinda bugged me too, but I didn't want to make the whole game go faster as it would be too fast to place to blocks. Never thought about speeding up background just to get more urgent feel, bloody amasing idea!
Glad i can help. :3
I will appreciate feedback on how it works.
Boom, I've fixed block rotation issue that bugged the hell out of me, but I've made background trees faster and bike animation loop quicker. I think it has made big difference to add urgency, does it feel any better now?
Oh Yeah! Now it feels like speedy ride :D
At first I felt so rushed that i failed miserably. XD
Hey really a great idea !! I loved it so much and played a couple of times and never boring
Do check our game too !! thanks for making it
Had fun, especially with the audio fx and music. Good job!
Thanks! Can't take credit for any of that, but I guess finding correct samples and mixing the volumes are important too, right? :D
You bet! As someone that did exactly that for most games made, I can truly say it's indeed important.
Very well done! Intuitive, original and very on point
Cheers. It went through couple of minor iterations, but I'm relatively happy it's as "hybrid" as I could have made it :)
Great game! Very fun!
Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it :)
Excellent game! I'll echo previous comments that this is so far the best theme interpretation. Controls were good and functional, but it seemed like I couldn't slide new blocks underneath previous blocks to the left, only in front of to the right? Not a huge deal, but it did limit strategy a little bit.
Thank you for checking out Biketris.
You mean under the biker? Or more like tetris where you can drop few rows instead of all the way down, then go "under" previous blocks?
Yep, the latter.
One of the best theme interpretations of the game jam.
There were one or two times during development I didn't think it works out, few annoying "plot holes", so to speak, but I'm fairly happy with how it turned out in the end :)
Again, thank you for playing!
Nice, good match to the theme!
It went through couple of minor iterations, but I'm fairly happy with how "hybrid" it is :)
Thanks you for playing!
Great use of the theme, fantastic visuals, and a very fun gameplay concept. Awesome work.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Thank you for playing!
Of course! And feel free to drop by and check out our game too if you have the extra time. :)
Great concept, graphics and gameplay! I really enjoyed it! If I could make one change it would be to have rotate bound to spacebar as I would mix up and down keys when placing/rotating while playing.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Excellent idea! I've now added Space for rotation and WASD controls as alternatives for arrow keys.
Thanks again for playing and your feedback.
Great! I appreciate the quick change. I 'll play some more now!
No worries, just adding some keys in if statements, not with even mentioning. My mate was asking about mobile controls, now that would be change and a two :D
For touch controls you could swipe down to place and tap to rotate, or have two separate buttons on each side of the screen
Great idea! Loved the concept, game and the wilhelm scream :)
Haha, someone did notice! For some crazy reason I've wanted to work that sound bite in for so long.
Thank you for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Very funny idea :-)
Music is right on target
Cheers!
I wish I could take credit for the music itself, the link to author is in game description, but I can take credit for painstakingly spending 10 minutes finding a perfect tune, eh? :)
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing! :)
But you selected it. And if it take you only 10 minutes, than I envy you. It took me lot more to decide.
It will be a great pleasure for me, if you will try my game
Concept is great. Also think the presentation and graphics are very well done. The gameplay and controls are a little clunky.
I don't consider art/design my greatest skill, so glad to see that hours of trying to make it look anything close passable have been noticed :)
And I agree, the playtesting took back stage while I was spending last week on getting it working in HTML version to make the jam deadline.
Thank you again for playing! :)
Little game play update, the block rotation should work a little bit better :)
Cool concept, too bad there's no feedback on the min distance of spaces you can place a block to and it just keeps moving to the right. I like it though ^^
Oh, like how close you can place blocks re biker? I did not even think about that, very good point! Because the way I've done the biker logic, technically you could get blocks in line to make him go up one row, but because check says it needs to boost one block before the raise, it'll still crash - in the end I thought it was very edge case and it was more important to polish other bits, mainly get HTML build running more smoothly.
Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it :)
I love it. I love simplicity, good color palettes and games that are fun without being overthinked. Well done.
Cheers!
For some reason I've ended up using edg16 palette for most of my stuff recently.
Thank you for beta-testing it early, it wouldn't be half as polished if it wasn't for your effort! :)
I really like the concept. I think it really is a great spin on tetris and works great for the theme as a hybrid. Art work is good too, my only issue is the first parallax layer with the trees. Something off about it and I can't tell what. Maybe the speed? Maybe the dithering?
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Yeah trees are a bit weird one. I did them fairly early on and ended up tweaking all other things and left trees as not that important to gameplay.
It moves 2px at the same time blocks move 1px. At some point I had it so it moves 1px half the waiting time, but it started flickering with dither, so this seemed like more graceful way of doing it.
The colours and foreground/background are clashing a little bit too, so I agree, there's definitely room for more polish :)
Again, thank you for playing!
Someone else suggested speeding up trees as well, so new build has faster trees and faster bike animation, without changing the game speed. Any better? :)
Much better!
