Theme interpretation
The roller ball which is our player must stay UnHybrid to survive in this hyper-casual game. The ball has to dodge a series of poles where if it hits one changes its shape changes to a hybrid one which makes the gameplay a bit tougher.

Really fun game! Very addictive as I'm sure others have mentioned and has a good difficulty level, very easy to understand what to do from the get go. 

Only thing I'd work on going forward is the sound and visuals! The gameplay is there so it has so much potential! 

Overall, super enjoyable and would love to see this developed further!

Aesthetic was pretty stylish for how minimal it was. I like the ball design. Well done with the audio!

The theme was certainly a stretch, with other shapes it could have fit better, however, now that the jam is done, focus on improving what makes the game fun for you, rather than the theme!

Like most casual games, this one was entertaining, but the leaderboard wasn't working. The art and music were fine, but nothing to stand out.

The idea of deforming the ball is quite interesting, but I don't understand its relationship to the word hybrid. It would be nice if the movement of the ball changed each time it deforms, or if the ball modified its shape completely after hitting certain poles.

If you could comment and rate our game, we would appreciate it.

I didn't see the ball morphing so the hybrid theme did not come across.  Do the poles just appear randomly?  If they appear randomly it means each playthrough would be different which is good but not great if you want there to be a difficulty curve.  I also am seeing the leaderboard take forever to load, but that was stated in your earlier comments.  This was fun and definitely enjoy playing a few times, but seemed hitting the poles usually just ended the game instead of making the ball un-hybrid.

Great and hard arcade game. I like the simple concept and the minimalistic but stylish graphics.
Maybe the lasers have a bit too much power. I think it would be nice if their strength increased the longer you play but otherwise a nice little game. :)

Ooh, I didn't see the obstacles as being lasers. Some laser-type effect on them would help make the game more atmospheric than the random poles.

I have deleted your comment as you aren't replying to what I said as a reply earlier. I am not that jobless to argue with you about the game. For everyone's sake I would say I am a 18 year old developer and open source enthusiast who won the prestigious Google code-in grand prize for the year 2017 for his immense open source contributions in solving world problems.  I hate copying ideas and I have got minimum common sense to think about what I am actually doing. Check your game page for my comment that I also found one game which looks exactly the same as your Jam entry and that from Brackeys video series itself. Stop trashing my efforts and polluting my game page.

The gameplay itself is simple but entertaining. It doesn't look like the leaderboards actually work but this is the type of game that would benefit from them. Graphics and audio and overall polish could use some work.

I agree with you!! The leaderboard is taking a huge amount of time to load. I am beginner 😁 and implemented SQL on unity and the cloud which gives me space is free and hence crowded all the time. So it takes a lot time to load the data. Thanks for playing. What you have I'd really valuable to us and will surely improve it. Thanks for the encouragement!!

I got a VERY low framerate when playing this in Chrome, but it ran fine when I downloaded the Windows build.  

Overall it's not bad!  To be honest, I didn't really see the differences when hitting poles - when I was going slow it didn't really seem to change anything, and once I started going fast I would just bounce off the ledge with 1 hit.

The game is fun to play. The only thing that i think could be better, is the sound that repeats itself every time (i think it's the sound of the poles being instantiated). In the overall, I liked it.

Nice concept and funny game! Gret job ;)
Two issues:
- The high score is wrong. It's calculate a few more points than I was made.
- The leaderboard doesn't works.

1. You get a little more high score as you might have taken the blue capsules which increase your final score

2. Leaderboard actually works on other platforms but takes much time to load due SQL queries are slow and the cloud I access the data is always busy as it is free of cost .

Interesting game! My only note would be that the height of the poles sometimes makes it harder to see oncoming poles as they get closer to the camera. Cool mechanics, great job!

Love the idea of changing the shape of the ball instead of immediately punish the player! Only complain would be the pole spawning sound can be a bit annoying after a while, the mute button only mutes the music :(

I guess I did a pretty good score, too bad the scoreboard did not work so I couldn't check :(

After the first 4, 5 poles, the game becomes insanely fast, did you not lock the CPU by any chance so the game speed depends on the computer speed ? Also I couldn't see the way the ball is morphing ? It stays round like a ball. And I was wondering what the blue pills are for ?

The UI looks really clean and the atmosphere is enjoyable by the way :)

Yes true because of the speed of the ball you surely won't observe the morphing πŸ˜….  Lol πŸ˜‚ blue pills are suprize score enhancers at the end. Scoreboard takes a lot time to load as i think SQL queries are too slow and the server that holds data is always crowded as the cloud space is given for free πŸ˜….

I played on Windows 10, with an i7 4770K overclocked to 4.5GHz
If you did not use a delta time mechanism or fixing the update to the framerate (which is itself a bad idea since not all people have the same framerate) the game speed is gonna be to high on high-end computers.

Also, I played on a 144Hz screen which might be the reason why it was so damn fast.

(The 144Hz screen was the problem, if I play on my 60Hz screen the game speed is normal).
Little tip : Never sync the game update to the framerate, it will cause game speed issues if the screen has a different framerate than the usual one (60Hz), it is a famous problem in games like King of Fighters : https://steamcommunity.com/app/222940/discussions/7/358415738200401557/

yep I got the problem, in unity i used Update constructor to do this job which created this problem. I think I have to replace using couroutines maybe.  Thanks for finding the issue as I had the same issue when I was testing  the game. Actually in that high speed the ball might cover long distances but the ground may not reach that extension. That is a result of the high speed of the ball. Otherwise it would be fine under normal cases. Thanks a lot for playing the game I have learnt something important. Thank you !! 😁

I found the solution , I have to lock the FPS to some 60 so that the gameplay would be completely same on all devices. I feel bitterly sad that why did I even didn't think about it 😒. Thanks for playing !!! 😁

There's an even better solution ! Use the delta time :) Frame rate locking is a bit frustrating for people who have a non 60Hz screen :p
