A nice concept for a puzzle game. I found the physics simulation meant that some of the puzzles relied heavily on trial and error, and others felt like I'd "cheesed" them, due to the ship bouncing off a moon and happening to go in the correct direction. Something that made this worse was tiny changes in the position of the moons having a large effect on the ship. Perhaps an initial trajectory line would alleviate this. I thought you explored a lot of mechanics for the puzzles, and did a good job of adding them gradually to the game.
I meant for the bouncing to happen if I didn't want it to I could have made the moons not bouncy. I feel like a lot of physics based puzzle games do rely on trial and error and until you hone in on what you need to do. Thanks for the review.
What a fun puzzle mechanic! I'm a big fan of how many levels you included too, as I'm someone who is always like "I need MORE" when it comes to puzzle games. Great job!
I set up my the game so that it would be easy to create new levels, at the beginning of the jam I set up most of the mechanics I would need later on, and I used free art assets so I wouldnt have to spend time making art.
Thanks for playing and giving a review!
Hello there, sadly I couldn't test your game :(
When I start it, I can toggle the sound buttons right away. Sound starts to play after waiting few seconds. But after that, I can wait forever but nothing else works. I clicked all the buttons and "how to play" and everywhere on the screen, no response...
I'm on Ubuntu 20.04 with latest Firefox, any idea what I can do?
It might just work in chrome?
Thanks, I installed chromium and it worked there. :)
Interesting game concept, fun to play.
there is one minor bug: when you have overlapping moons and try to move one of them, they get pushed together and move as one from there on. you can delete the moons and replace them to fix it again.
That is needed in some levels where you need to have multiple moons in the same spot to get it faster and you can move them both at the same time instead of one at a time.
Really fun mechanic, makes for addictive gameplay! I couldn't stop playing haha.
I did find a bug though in one of the yellow levels. I deleted a couple of my moons to reposition them but the moon counter didn't refund me. I had to quit and come back into the level.
The level design is really well thought out and I'm really surprised by how many levels there are! Must have taken a lot of time and effort to make these because they all seem very high quality (I didn't finish all of them but I'll be back to do it later). Great work!
I'm glad you enjoyed!
Do you know what yellow level it was?
Edit: its level 11
Cool puzzle game and nice idea!
Thanks! Im glad you liked it.
Very innovative puzzle game! :-)
It took me a bit to get into the gravity, but then it was fun to play :-)
Im glad you liked it
Really nice game. Nice try.
The one thing I would like is the sounds to be a little lower. Other than that, really nice try!
Thanks!
Sorry about the sounds IDK how to change volume but you can mute the SFX if its too annoying.
if it's in unity you can always play with the volume of the sound through the audiosource in the inspector!
Its not unity, im using wade https://clockworkchilli.com/wade/#.
Really cool game. It has this addictive puzzling game character where i just can't stop. Controls are nice and easy so that even I could figure it out. Got the hang of it quickly and was addicted from level 2 onwards. Music has a chill vibe, like that a lot. Graphics fit very good the overall concept. The approach to the theme is interesting and amazed me. Very good job. Congratz on this nice game.
Im glad you enjoyed. I made the controls based off games that ive played before. I made the music using beepbox and I felt it fit this game perfectly. I dont know why but when I saw the theme I thought of of this game from GMTK jam 2018 but with moons. What level did you get to?
Currently I'm stuck at Level 5. But I'll try today again to get further. Got some new ideas how to solve it. Props for that really got me triggered and had me thinking about the physics and how to proceed ;)
*Secret ... kinda*
Most early levels are more simple than they seem. But I gave more moons than needed to let people be creative.
I really liked this concept. By level 2 or 3, I was like, "Oh... OH!" Very neat. I think it would have benefitted from just a HAIR of control on your ship, as I got kind of bored of waiting to see if it would work and got slightly frustrated when it didn't do what I expected, but overall I enjoyed it. Nice work.
I wanted to add a speed up timer and/or a slow down timer to help with the boredom a bit but I thought it was good enough (and it seemed complicated) and chose to work on other things.
We were definitely beholden to the time restraints. I completely understand. Great job regardless.
Thanks
Nice game. Music was a great choice for this kind of game bc kept me calm and not frustrated. Buttons like restart were intuitive enough that it worked out that you didnt include gameplay GUI on what buttons to press. Really impressed with the level count. Made it pretty far through your campaign but level 4 was tricker than I expected.
I made the music specifically for this game and im glad you liked it. Did you not click the how to play button in either the menu of the second level? Thats where I explained the goal and the buttons. I did thing to make it so it was pretty easy to make new levels. Speaking of buttons is a hint that tells you around where to place the moons.
My bad I was pretty unclear. I did press the menu button but what I meant was I naturally discovered that 'R' was for restart and I thought that was good design because I didn't need it to have been told to me. So really good job for that
Ohhhh that makes more since.
