Cool idea! Like battle-royale golf lol. I liked it but I didn't play for long because the graphics gave me a headache.
Thanks for the feedback!
Was the screen shacking causing headaches, or the fact of having to aim while moving?
I think it was from getting dizzy with the spinning and orbiting planets. It gets a bit nauseating to have to track a fast spinning object
Really fun! The concept is very cool and well executed. Gameplay is very chaotic though. It seemed like the same strategy in the same level would sometimes result in 3 stars and sometimes a game over, with a microsecond difference.
The game is indeed very timing based indeed :-)
I ended up playing it too much while I was developing it and I made the levels quite difficult, but I'm planning to fix the learning curve, so that the more chaotic levels come after enough training and feel more strategic.
Thanks for the feedback!
This was really dope! enjoyed every second and was actually sad it was over, my favorite so far!
thanks :-)
I'm actually planning to work on the game more next year, fixing the feedback from the game jam and adding more levels.
Nice work! Very fun.
A moon shooting moons at other moons! Woah.
It's super fun and really challenging if you want to achieve 3 stars everywhere. Friendly moon adds an extra complexity. The black hole animation was awesome. Great game.
Why is it so easy to hit myself thought lol.
Great game with a cool concept and a good theme implementation. Congratulations.
it was fun
I liked the gameplay, but it made me pretty motion sick, especially with all the screen shaking.
The audio was kind of annoying and didn't really fit the tone of the game.
Cool game! I got like 1 star most of the times haha
I liked the general idea/mechanic. Shooting is fun, but a bit chaotic. I'm not even sure if I could get 3 stars consciously. The new mechanics are introduced at the right pace and the short levels didn't feel frustrating, but it's hard to point your guns when you're orbiting at high speed.
Music wasn't bad, but needs a bit of variety. Sounds are ok, except for the one that plays constantly after you shoot all your minimoons and the menu beeps.
I liked the anarchist theme, though I'm not sure if space anarchists would sacrifice whole planets (and their people) for their cause, haha. Also, it ends a bit abruptly. A separate screen for the ending or credits would be nice.
Cool game :)
Thanks for the feedback! :-) I updated https://github.com/renato-grottesi/moonarchists/issues/15 with your comments and I'll try to fix them after the voting period.
About aiming at high speed, did you try the non-cross-hair mode in the options? That was the default before people told me that it didn't feel natural, but I think it's better for more accurate aiming. I'm still a bit on the edge on which is better...
Nope, but I'll try it when I have the chance and leave a comment here with my experience
Playing this game was a lot of fun. The gravity makes it very interesting but also chaotic. I certainly had plenty of luck while completing some of the levels.
Wonderful premise and a creative spin in gameplay. It certainly felt difficult to get the hang of, but I love the planets whirling around and the feeling of trying to knock their orbits in just the right way. The art looks lovely too, particularly the look of the black hole, as well as the planets and turning shadow on them. I also liked how there were more elements to keep track of besides the main goal such as having to worry about the position of allies and oneself . I was able to reach the end and had a great time with it!
Thanks for the detailed analysis :-)
I must say that I spent more time adjusting graphics, animations and shadows, than I did on gameplay: nobody can point that a game feels wrong because it's missing animations, but they are extremely important indeed.
Fun game. It looks to be a nice homage to "Spacewar!" with it's own twist :) I enjoyed the music and it was a good challenge. Well done!
thanks :-)
I've never player Spacewar! actually, but now that you mentioned it I'll have to :-)
Nice game and a really cool idea. Very tricky though, maybe on the early levels the planets could move a bit slower? But yeah really nice and very original game.
That's actually a very good point: early feedback from friends was to slow down the levels and I did by 25%, but I didn't think of making the speed a per level variable instead of a global one :-)

Cool game, the game idea is really innovative.
It feels impossible to master the mechanics, I just won due to pure luck :D
eheh :-)
it is possible to master the mechanics... but it took me one month of practice :-p
probably not the best gameplay choice to present to a game jam where people are supposed to try your game in 5-10 minutes
Hehe, don't worry, it was still fun :)
Difficult game, it's hard even when you start mastering the mechanics. Good job, nice to see more godoters everywhere
Super clever mechanic, took me a few goes to get even basic mastery :)
Really nice mechanic! Feels a bit chaotic most of the time but it's pretty fun.
Very innovative orbiting and shoot mechanic. I like the music, graphics and the smooth movement. It is quite challenging but still enjoyable.
Well done!
That's a really fun game, congrats! I really enjoyed the mechanics, and shooting moons at planets is quite funny :)
In later levels I did feel that my success was mostly due to chance, as it was a bit difficult to devise proper strategies with so many asteroids or friendly moons close to the black hole. But I still had fun and succeeded.
Thanks for playing it to the end and for the feedback! :-)
Maybe I can try to make the randomness a bit more predictable initializing by a fixed seed, so that it's always the same upon restart.
