this game is awesome, the idea of kill with overflow is so much fun and make the gameplay more interesting
Great entry
Nice entry! I'm definitely terrible at card games, so I can't progress too much in your game. But it was fun to play. I loved the intro with the terminal commands and error messages.
Good work!
The overflow system is so interesting and opens up so many more gameplay patterns. Once I got the hang of it it became a very enjoyable game. One thing that's not clear to me is whether increasing my attack levels is good or just neutral.
Thanks for playing and exploring the mechanics. Increasing the attack certainly doesn't do anything other than wasting a turn. It should be able to overflow into a heal, though I don't think I've properly tested that part of the mechanics, so I'm not sure if it still works. It might be nice for the player to attack automatically like the enemies, but I realized it a little to close to the deadline.
I enjoyed playing the game as card games tend to be one of my goto's to chill and unwind. I got my character to have monstrous levels of attack many times. I don't know if there was a way to damage enemies beyond the -1 hp cards, but if there was it probably would've made getting a whole lot of attack more satisfying for me. Overall a nice, chill game.
Thanks for the feedback. Currently, there is not really an advantage of player having high attack, which I think is a missed opportunity by me. To damage the enemies, you can actually utilize the attack up cards to increase their attacks, and then use self-destruct to deal more damage to them. You can also use the heal cards to make the enemies' health overflow.
I died from too much health. XD I didn't get that using the "neg attack" card can change an attacker into a healer. Interesting mechanic.
Thanks for playing! Balancing your own health is one of the mechanics that I've focused on. This allowed me to be lazy about when deciding what enemy spawns since both enemy types can potentially kill the player.
Really fun game! The intro was really cool. And it was really interesting to figure out how to best use the cards to win each battle!
