Really enjoyed the clones concept and the overall aesthetic of the game. Only complaint is that I wished the clones generated a bit faster

Loved the idea of using the past player movement to complete the stage! Chip-tune styled music and well polished pixel art is also nice :) Getting back to the start of the stage once died is challenging yet I liked that part too as it reminds me of good old hard core 2d games hehe.

The clones are a great idea, I like so much sound and the graphics.

Very nice game, congratulations!

An fun idea and the art style is very nice and polished. Some of the sounds were quite harsh though and turning down "sounds" in options did not seem to effect stuff like speech volume but that may just be personal preference.

The gameplay is interesting but the unforgiving nature and the fact that you have to do levels many times over quickly becomes repetitive. The puzzles were fun to figure out but getting to them to a lot of time and messing up meant waiting a long time to try again.

I enjoyed this immensely! Everything was so polished. Graphics and music were great. I love the dialogue, and the professor was hilarious. Excellent take on the theme, reloading your previous ghost in for platforming was ingenious. Very enjoyable little game! This fits perfect back in the 90s where I grew up. Nice job!

Really nice game, I loved the clones concept !
Kinda jealous I didn't have that idea haha

Very cool, I've always been intrigue by games that use this simple mechanic yet tricky to master. The visuals match the theme very well and I like how the story comes in at the right time and does not feel like it stops gameplay for too long (it helps that I can press space to speed through it) :) For me, personally, the BG on the game page is distracting and made it a bit more challenging to play the game...maybe if I had the ability to full screen or download the game that could help me to not have that problem because it does look cool.

Thanks for your feedback. I've turned on the fullscreen button on itch now.
Btw, you can download Linux and Windows versions. :)

Oh, cool, I missed that option. :)

I like the levels, they make good use of the mechanics you've created. I also like how I can also choose what to do with the current loop. It gives much more flexibility and makes mistakes less irritating.

There are 2 things with the controls that bugs me. First thing is that jumping on top of a jumping clone feels a little weird and inconsistent. Maybe you can sort of 'add' the y velocity of the clone you are on top of when jumping from it so that the actual player rises faster than the clone? The second thing is that movement is a bit slippery. This is mostly just my opinion, but I prefer the controls to be more snappy, especially with insta-death spikes involved.

Overall, I still think this is a great game with great level design and fitting art and music. It's pretty funny to get shot and killed by my past self.

The game has a common mechanic but is really well executed in design. I like the plot behind it, along with the good fitting audio and graphics. Nice job!

The game feels smooth, has a nice idea and theme interpretation <3

If you'd told me that you were going to make a game where 5+ instances of your past run throughs of a game could be or would be needed to solve various puzzles throughout the game and that you were going to finish it all in a month, I would tell you that you were mad, but it appears that Nimble Beasts have pulled it off in Simulation Theory, which turns out to be far more than the common parlance of theory (yes, I know, gravity is a theory). Many platformers don't seem to get the correct Ouvre with tight controls and weight to their figures, but it's obvious that a lot of work was put into this one, not to mention the art style and music. You know it's a good Game Jam when you can tell a game would be better if only it were longer. Good job developers!

This game really has a lot of depth in its core mechanic. The art and the music are also very nice.

HAHAHAHA!!! I shot myself! The ghosts are a great concept. You got me to laugh out loud. :-)

I would nix that animated background on the webpage. Having it on the page and in the game at the same time was too much. In the game I might fade it to solid after a bit or just freeze it. It sets a cool atmosphere but is tiring after a while. I feel the same about the music. It sets the right tone but I wouldn’t be able to listen to it very long.

This is very polished. Looks and plays great!

This is a nice twist on racing games where they have you race your ghost for time trial sections. Fantastic concept. Really well polished. Nice work  !

I got some good Braid feelings in this one!

Everything worked as intended from the get go and the megaman style is really good too!

My only critique would be to make the difficulty curve a little flatter, because there is a big jump from the first tutorial level to the second one, and this could be a little frustrating.
