Finally got around to writing up a retro: https://iamdanielmarino.com/posts/github-game-off-game-jam-2021-retrospective/
Interesting idea using phone gyro. Nicely setup too that you can just scan the QR code and start playing. I found the first level frustrating though, colliding with the grid as it quickly slid into the screen before really understanding what was happening, I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong or if it was supposed to be that way, in the end just sitting down the bottom was the answer which is pretty unsatisfying. The following levels were better though and felt fairer. I like the minimal aesthetic, I think it's an interesting idea setting it in mobile phone and using recognizable placeholders as art / things to dodge. Nice jazzy music too :)
I love the idea! Loved the jazzy bgm! nice job! I can see potential of this as a hyper casual game on mobile! Great job!
Nice Concept, I used the accelerometer of the android device too, if you want to try it feel free to leave a comment (try the android version). You even composed the whole soundtrack, what a PRO :)
A very cool concept of dodging phone applications, and a great minimalist artstyle! I love the jazzy tunes, and the breakdown whenever you lose a run!
It would be cool if there was a high score to show how long you could go without getting hit.
Controls are really satisfying
Good job
This was a very refreshingly unique idea, I haven't seem someone take advantage of a phone's sensors in a game jam before. I liked the concept of the bug in the machine, going through various different apps and avoiding the UIs. The game was simple but effective in keeping me engaged and trying multiple times. Nicely done!
Cool game, a little tricky for me but I really enjoyed it. The music is amazing, I like the transitions a lot.
Super fun idea! Seriously the game controls were perfect. I feel like often games that are trying to do something new and tricky end up having really difficult controls, but this was perfect - great job!

Cool game! It has a good gameplay, and I think it uses an innovative idea :D
Cool idea and had fun playing :)
Nice game! I enjoyed the controls, even if it did seem like the ball had a bit of a jitter to it. Not sure if that’s just something you can’t get around when working with browser games and accelerometers or not. Would also be great (if you were to continue working on this project) if you could hold the device a bit more vertical - but that’s pretty nit-picky! Overall loved the game and concept.
yup the bug intentionally has jitter because it’s a bug. And I agree about holding the phone more vertical. Thanks for playing!
Your game reminded me of this wood labyrinth toy So I know how addicting it can be. lol. And I like the jazz music! And playing the game on my cellphone wasn't something I expected. so that was cool. I kinda wish the bug had a bigger size? I was holding my phone up and didn't realize it's already there at the bottom. Other than that I think this is really a well-polished game! Good job!
I tried to load the game on my android phone and tilt the phone, but nothing happened? Also everytime I tried to refresh the game, the game would spawn the fly right where the chat bubbles are, leading to an automatic game over. Outside of that, I really liked the music/sfx as well as the overall graphic style and the concept behind this game. Just wish I was able to play it.
Sorry for the trouble! The game should prompt you when you first load it to have access to your phones sensors so that it can use its accelerometer. Without access you cannot play the game. You might have to clear your browser cache or play in a private session if you'd like to try again.
It's alright! But I did try playing on 3 different internet browsers on my phone, Mozilla Firefox, DuckDuckGo, and the default android web browser. I also tried clearing the browser cache and playing in a private tab, and it didn't work then. I don't know if it's my phone or something else, but I didn't get a prompt asking for permission to access the phone censors.
I’m bummed you weren’t able to get it working:( I’m glad you at least got to enjoy some of the music.
An amazing game! I find the control a bit difficult, maybe it takes some more time to get used to it, but is definitely enjoying to play. Nice music and theme also
def takes some getting used to the controls. My first full play through took about an hour. Now it takes me about 10 minutes. Thanks for playing!
A very unique and difficult game you've made there. Definitely wasn't expecting to play something like that today. Good job!
Interesting and fun. Maybe add some more context to the UI, coz it took me a while to understand what's going on.
Interesting concept!
A clever twist on the object avoidance side-scroller! Re-contextualizing the interfaces a lot of us look at daily is an idea I wish I had. I am also a sucker for accelerometer controls, so I had a great time.
