The game can have more polish, and it would be nice if I can switch bullets and see their effects without going to the statue page. However, as a developer's first game it's really great! The game is about bacteria which is an interesting theme and players can learn some biology from the game. I like that instead of blindly shoot all enemies getting close to them, players need to manage their food and make sure acid, gas and energy are kept in certain range. This makes the game more challenging and fun to play. Looking forward to see the future games you make XD

Developer

Thank you for the comment! I'll definitely make more games!

Nice game, it was fun to play. It didn't have sound in the browser version! good effort

Developer

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to learn about game music. I'll just take the punch and get 0 star for Audio in the ratings this time. Btw, I just played yours and 5-star for your Audio lol.

Nice game! And thank you for your comment on mine, I can for sure what you mean about a similar theme! Great minds think alike ;)

Gameplay: Needing to use different acids against different bacteria was interesting even though the gameplay wasn't the most polished.

Graphics: Pixel art looks good but it'd look better if all the art had the same pixel size in game(you can do this by not changing the scale of your objects).

Audio: There was no sound.

Theme interpretation: I don't really get the bug theme from this game.

Innovation: The idea is pretty unique and its cool that you got the idea from Kurzgesagt.

Overall: Really good even though its not the most polished, especially for your first game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I will definitely work on those items. Especially I need to learn about game audio. Otherwise, like this time, it's simply 0 score for the audio. The theme interpretation is based on "a microorganism (such as a bacterium or virus) causing illness or disease" in the GameOff description.

Oh yeah that makes sense for the theme. A simple way to generate sfx pretty easily for jams is bfxr.

Good job for a first game ! The size of the screen was too big so I can't see the label in the right bottom corner. Continue making games !

Developer

Thanks for playing! May I ask whether you are playing it on your phone or what approximately is your screen size? This is an important data point for me and I will definitely try to fix this issue. Thanks!

I'm on a mac with (1440 x 900).

Developer

Thanks. I'll test with that in the emulator next time.

As always as a great Unity fanlover i recommend to change the default splashscreen of your game! By the way the purple one is so strong ahahhaha Nice game :)

Developer

Haha, glad you liked it! The purple guy is c-difficile. It is really bad in reality so I made it quite crazy in the game.

Fun and educational and easy to run. I also tested on my phone and it works well apart from lack of movement controls. Well worth adding touch controls I'd say. Well done!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I definitely should add a joy stick control when played on mobile devices. Thanks for trying it out on the phone! This is something I overlooked.

Nice concept, I liked the puzzle-like aspect of having to learn which bacteria are vulnerable to which acid. I think there's some bug with the shooting, though: sometimes when I shoot to the right, for example, the acid drops would appear on my left and then collide with me (if I get out of its way the drop keeps going to the right direction)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I was hoping to add some 'stomachache' time that twists the gravity. But then the 'bug' you mentioned showed up and I decided to fix it later.... :]

I like this concept and idea. Yeah, my game is a little similar to it.

Well Done!

Cool game! I enjoyed playing it, and for a first game it’s great that you finished it! I didn’t finish the first few games I tried to make.

Developer

I thought I couldn't finish it but then I decided to stay up a few nights and pushed myself to finish. It was painful but I think it's worth it.

Very nice job for your first game! You should be proud! I like your interpretation of using Probiotics as bugs—that's pretty clever.

Game could def use sound sound, and polish, but overall nice job!

Developer

Thank you so much! I think really need to start to learn game music. :)

Fun game to play! Smooth scrolling and animations. Good job.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad that you liked it. :)

Educational and considering it's your first, this is a job well done! Keep up with the good work! (I got a bit of my game's idea from Kurzgesagt as well!)

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I definitely learned a lot from this Game Off. And I'll keep building and I'll try add audio to my next game. lol

I really liked this! Great pixel art for the microorganisms, and kudos just for including biology. Unfortunately the game was hard to understand, and I didn't survive for long.

Developer

Thank you so much for the comment!

I'll try to upload a video to show some tricks to survive longer. I agree the rules are obscure. In the beginning it was intentional because that's the reality of our human gut. Our science is yet to understand how the microbiome really works. But later I realize it's really too hard... sorry...

Tip: green bacteria (h-pylori) is easy to kill and cannot harm you. Red bacteria (c-diff) can be killed by the blue acid drop.

Golden rule in game making: Make it as simple as possible - and then try to make it even simpler!
