What makes me enjoy this game is the theme and the concept. A little bit more touch to the sound and graphic, this becomes a bomb.
Thanks!
A fresh spin on an old idea. The 3rd dimension really adds a lot of fun to the flappy bird gameplay core. Didn't get very far because I suck at flappy bird but that didn't stop me from enjoying the game! Nicely done!
Thanks for playing!
Great work on this! Lots of fun and very challenging, I like your way of visualizing a bats echolocation.
Thanks!
Really love the theme on this - the audio and visuals work really well to bring the whole thing together. Awesome stuff! My only gripe is how the changing camera angle makes the already challenging game a bit too hard.
Thanks for the feedback!
really liked the black and white colors(I think it fits well with the bat theme)
I think the gameplay has a lot of potential, but it needs more polish .
also the controls are kinda unforgiving ,but I actually think I like it more that way! ,
Thanks!
Nicely done. Congrats on finishing your game!
Your premise, despite being "3D flappy bird" was really intriguing and a neat take on the theme. The presentation is pretty cool, too. The little chittering echo and minimal graphics are a nice combination. Unfortunately, the gameplay just didn't click for me. I know flappy bird is notorious for it's difficulty, but the 3D element here made this feel almost impossible. In combination with the intentionally obscured walls, I couldn't make it past 14%, and even that was about 1 in 4 runs. I didn't even make it past the first obstacle until my 4th or 5th try because it feels like there's no time to get used to the controls. I think in this case - your use of theme is so strong that you could have dialed back on adhering to it in service of gameplay and you'd still high score for theme. Giving players that chance to feel like they can do it is really important.
Anyway, you should be super proud. This can't have been easy to make solo and it turned out to be a great little project. I just wish I could have seen more of it!
Keep making games!
PS - When I read your game description, I did a wild double-take:
"I originally was going to make a game that contained a bunch of mini games that each had their own cliché [...]"
That's what we ended up with!
Thanks a lot! Yeah I do regret leaving in that first obstacle - having played the game so many times its easy to me now it was something I overlooked.
Really nice concept.
Pros: As mentioned, the concept and theme. The (lighting? Is it lighting if its echo location?) effect used to represent the echo location looked really nice. The sound effect of the bat clicking, and then echoing throughout the cave is really cool.
Cons: The controls and collision boxes on the cave seem very unforgiving. It felt like I was dying without touching the obstacles at some points. This coupled with the controls being quite floaty made it very hard to play.
Overall, I think it needs quite a bit of tweaking of collision boxes, and maybe tighten up the controls. You got the aesthetic and mood bang on though. Good Job!
Thanks!
This concept is so cool!
Thanks!
