This was really fun! It wasn't immediately clear however whether buffs would stack each level or not. Super cool idea and congrats on 6th overall. The concept is fantastic, controls very easy to use, and love the music. Would love an options menu to change sounds and see what buffs I currently have vs. enemies. Super juicy! Nice interpretation of the theme. And it's fun too. A nice little package.
This game is really fun and addictive, with good colors and music, simple mechanics
Really fun and addictive! The gameplay sucked me in. While graphics are simple, they certainly do the job well and the VFX and audio did a lot to help provide good feedback. I liked how the buffs are randomized each playthrough, so even though I usually wish roguelike games had more checkpoints, the new buffs kept things fresh and interesting.
Are the power-ups randomized? I felt SO strong by the end haha.
Very great and polished game you got! Cool to see that you made it in Godot too!
I also really loved the BGM :^)
Congrats on an amazing submission!
Amazing game! I love the power up system and movement/shooting feels incredibly smooth. Great feedback when hit/shooting and the mechanics are conveyed easily to a player. I struggled to beat the pink boss due to the fact it's huge and I can't really maneuver around it easily, but overall I'll be playing it again. Great job!
Game is finished in all aspects. Well designed, fully polished, sale ready game. Well done sir.
Hallo,
Thank you for sharing your game. I’ve already saved its RATING;
1. verified: GAME due to in LIST of Most rated, and sample screenshot has noticeable drawing technique
2. notes: noticeable background musical tune to remind me of SCOTT PILGRIM vs The World game (PS3); adds: music to appear to be of PROFESSIONAL GAME DEVELOPERS, where: PROFESSIONAL : receives INCOME from developed and released GAMES; with OVERALL OUTPUT, has PROFIT
3. notes: noticeable animation using 3D techniques, e.g. rotation; adds: keyphrase: explosion, unit firing, fired square beams, learnable
4. adds: had to use scroll downward due to MAIN GAME not yet all visible @START using WEB BROWSER
5. observed: MOUSE + keyboard technique; observed: self to inadvertently click the web address bar of the browser to cause CHANGE in the web page at select TIMES; adds: however, continued to FINISH set#1 with Giant Green Square as BOSS; adds: may continue IF has solution to current CONTROLS
Thank you. Health!
I really loved this game! Nothing to say, I was hooked until the end, great job!
My two nitpicks are: 1) Although the game is super juicy and feels great, the big chunky particles are occluding and make the screen very busy; I often lose track of where I am. 2) Not necessarily bad thing (because I don't know the answer), but I wonder how readable this game would be to someone who is colorblind.
With the nitpicks out of the way-- The amount of polish and style on this game is through the roof. I like how the entire game flows from one thing to another. I like the transitions between fights. I like how everything feels alive despite it all just being squares with rounded corners. And above all I love the simple but clever upgrade system and how it affects the enemies of the current color you are primarily fighting. I'm glad I was able to finish it, I had a good time! Great work!
that was super fun and super juicy and game feel was amazing!!
I really enjoyed your game! Simple, easy to learn and well designed.
My particular favorite part is that enemy would have different characteristics for each color in exchange for my power up.
Great work!!
The feedback during fights and during level transitions is very well done. However the upgrades were more of a mystery to me, or did so little that it was barely noticable. The art was art like I would design it, only a bit better ;P To be honest it looks like placeholders to me, the art could have used some more love but I guess all time went into the (very smooth playing) player controller.
Overall a good little game, just not my cup of tea ;P
I didn't feel like there was much inovation and graphics-wise I always feel a bit uninspired by simple-geometry games - but the gameplay mechanics were really fun and interesting, and the feel of the gameplay is simply perfect! I love the feedback and the difficulty-curve, which is perfectly balanced and I never got surprised when hitting enemies or loosing life. That was so well done! Perfectly polished and a really great entry!
I couldn't really find the theme in more than the actual name of the game though. ^^
The upgrade system was also extremely fun, and made the game replayable over and over. I love how you're introducing the perfect amount of complexibility without the player having to stop and remember a lot of specifics of all the enemies and such. Great work! :)
I spent more time on this game than I am willing to admit. It is so addictive! This is as close to perfect as is possible in a game jam! Kudos. The level of polish is truly inspiring!
The sound, the mechanics, the game feel everything is so perfect here. When the enemies enter in room, this thing I gonna copy for my any of next game.
Holy hell, those are some JUICY squares! Nicely done. Great rogue-like progression too.
