Game description
Meet Richie, a mysterious figure with a chest he holds. Now you might be wondering what exactly is in that chest? Well, that chest is said to hold a secret of immense value.

But here’s the twist: Richie doesn’t even know what’s inside! You see, he accidentally swapped the key to open his chest with another one, one that opens a completely different, worthless chest. Will you be able to track down the right key and unlock the chest’s mysterious secret?

Theme interpretation
This short game is packed with mystery and secrets, especially one hidden inside a chest. The secret is incredibly valuable and when I say valuable, I mean it literally. Players not only solve puzzles in the game, but after the game is finished the player will be tasked with solving a mystery too.

So why is this a speedrun? Because in this game, time is the true enemy. Players must race against the clock, striving to be the first to solve the mystery before others beat them to it. The faster you are, the closer you get to uncovering the ultimate secret.

Wildcards used (optional)

This was a charming game. I enjoyed the graphics and the music/sound and I particularly liked all the little details you added to the game. I always felt like I needed to open "just one more chest", so even though the gameplay is really simple, its also very addictive somehow. So I got the code at the end: RAKTR-PLIIRX-AKPVIZ - however, I have no idea what it means or how to decode it! Great game, great entry, well done.

Really cute art style and game. Fun to run around and explore.

Fun little game. Sprinting felt satisfying, so much so that I just held the sprint button down the entire time. I wish there was a little more variety to the game play, but this was tight and complete. Good Job!

The game is addictive from the very first seconds, great that there is an intuitive highlighting of chests with the color of the keys, finished quickly, graphics with lighting is nice.

I like the art style!  Was also pretty fun to run around finding the right chest for each key

Pretty neat concept, I liked the placement of the chests too, made you explore. I can see how this would be an appealing game if it were to be developed further. Nice!

Yeah, absolutely! If it weren't for being tied to a college assignment, I’d definitely take the time to develop this game even further and make it so much better.

This is a cool concept for a game. I'm sure you'd want to add more if you had the time, but I had fun running around the ruins in the desert. Makes me wonder what they're there for? An archaeological dig maybe? I got the string of letters at the end and I tried to type them on the main screen and in game, but neither did anything. I think maybe the mystery will have to go unsolved for me. Thanks for the game!

Really good game, I loved the graphics and general art direction, only thing I would want to see is an option to speed up the dialogue, I'm speed running I don't have time for all this chatting. Good Job!

Developer

Thanks for playing my game and sharing your feedback! When I first made this game I didn't really think about speedrunning, but yeah, adding a feature to speed up or skip dialogue would be a great improvement.
