Game description
So, you want to be a Thief? Treasure Quest is a homage to the Point-and-Click adventure games of the golden era of gaming - the late 80's and early 90's. Enjoy entirely "hand-crafted" pixel art and a specially composed soundtrack while you attempt to solve the secrets of Ben "Mad Dog" McRee and find his hidden stash of gold bars. This is your first heist, but will it be your last?
Theme interpretation
I thought the theme was perfect for an 'Escape Room' type of game, so I took that idea and blended it with a classical Point-and-Click 2D pixelated adventure game, and created Treasure Quest. Players will need to discover a secret in order to find their way out of the room they're in.

Amazing Game. The puzzles were just perfect, neither hard nor easy—great music and sound. There were times when the character got stuck, but it was a minor bug and did not cause any issues. overall great submission.
Treasure Quest!!
Amazing! Thank you for playing. Just on 6 minutes is great. I hope you enjoyed it :)
Nice design for a point-and-click, and puzzles all made sense with decent signposting. Let down a bit by the control system - very many times an interaction failed because your code incorrectly decided I was standing in the 'wrong' place so een though I clicked on something nothing happened, or I got wrong message, so I had to walk away then towards, walk away then towards, walk away then towares, and eventually it would work correctly. But otherwise great - just wish it had 10x the content!
Thanks. What your experiencing there is a collider thats preventing him from moving the way he SHOULD be moving. I need a better solution for this kind of game, like a 2D Nav Mesh which was not natively available at the time. There are actually just great packages available for free that make this kind of game much more workable so I'm going to check those out. Thanks so much for playing. I definitely think I should continue to build this with the next scene being the dark passageway behind the door :)
Honestly with Unity I've never bothered with their navmesh stuff - it was 5 years too late, and way too weak for what it does. Much better to roll your own for simple cases (like this) or get one of the assets that does it far better I think (e.g. the A* free assets that have been around for 15 ish years now)
Fun and cute entry- the story, music, art, and gameplay was all nicely wrapped up for this mini adventure. Nice work!
Fun game! i thought there would be more puzzle after that door. well done
Fun little game, loved the music it was a great choice. The puzzles were fun and I wanted more! Great job.
Very nice! It took me ages to figure out the first clue. I played it fullscreen first so I didn’t realize the “symbols” - they were so pixelated :-) well done!
Scored 100 out of 100! :D
Fun game! Soundtrack made me feel like a classy kind of thief!
I did get stuck on the first puzzle, but it was only because I couldn't work out which clue was the right one for that puzzle. I think the puzzle difficulty could be finessed, but it's more about adding multiple steps to some of the solutions. If I had to find multiple pieces of information from different sources and combine them together to solve a puzzle, that would make me feel more like a proper sleuth!
Woo! 100/100. It's short but really well done. I bet you wanted to add some more on this huh? I really like what's here and how you set it up. Also we can tell he's a first time thief because he still leaves through the front door after he's got a ladder out! Funny. Don't sell out your artwork man, it's really good. Love the style of it.
Thanks for playing :) I definitely had to try and go for quality over quantity here as the artwork took me so long to do! There is a little easter egg around why he cant go back out the window and you discover it when you click on the window :D Glad you had a moment of fun with this, and I will definitely check your game out as well.
Loved even tho i couldnt find the first code
the First Clue is on the portrait of Ben, who represent Benjamin Franklin, who made significant contributions to the understanding of electricity. It's a sum you need to do based on the numbers you'll find when you look at/click on the painting. Enter those 3 numbers into the power box for the next step.
Nice game, you should add a pathfinder for the character. And I guess the score becomes 100 no matter what.
The puzzles were a bit too easy. Yes, there is nothing stopping you from adding more levels and puzzles. It is a nice game, thanks! I enjoyed cracking the case!
Play my submission too!
Thanks for playing! I guess with this kind of game I'm keen to see what people think of the puzzle difficulty, as the other side of it is that it's too hard and nobody gets to finish it. Will check your game out.
i wish i could rob the rest of the house because it was great fun, with nice puzzles and theme interpretation. congrats!
Thanks! Making this one scene has made me realise that there's nothing stopping me from making more and more scenes and expanding the game if I want to. I'll have to think about that! Glad you enjoyed it :)
