Game description
Unlock your Secret powers to destry your enemies !!
I made this game for the Game Off 2024 together with my two kids (4 and 7)
My main goals were:
- To have fun with my kids ! They made the enemy sprites and I did the rest
- To learn about doing pixel art with Aseprite and to learn about Godot development
The idea is to go unlocking Secret Powers with combinations of different keys that will be discovered as you advance in the game
Have fun !!
Theme interpretation
The theme of Secrets was the main influence for the core gameplay (find a secret power).
That was the main idea and then we were just building the game on top of it
Wildcards used (optional)
Limit your colors to 4

Loved the idea of discovering new moves
Nice! I like the idea of discovering special moves, it reminds of playing fighting games as a kid and the spells of SOTN. Fits the theme well, and I can see a full game with this concept!
Played it to the end. Overall a super cute game with a lot of heart. The enemy design is absolutely fantastic and the adherence to four colors makes for a lovely game. The gameplay is simple and builds to a frantic and wild pace by the end. The only real weakness was I felt was it felt like my powers didn't have as much effect as they could, the knockback was cool but it wasn't clear if it was doing more damage, and the multi-punch seemed to damage enemies faster but I felt like I could win by just kicking and punching as I wasn't clear if enemies were hurting me by standing next to me or only when they got past, it could have used some hit indicators. The sound design was also super fun, I loved the sound effect on the push power and I really liked the variation in scale of enemies. Super charming game, hope the devs go on to make more in the future as this was a good first one!
Hey! Thanks a lot for trying it!
Yep, you're totally right, I needed to reach the deadline for the Jam and didn't find the proper time to make what I had in mind, I wanted to make the powers rewarding but as you said they feel like you actually don't need them to win the game.
Now that I don't have to rush anymore I will try to modify that so the core of the game has more sense.
Thanks again!
