Very charming game! I was particularly impressed by the transition with the car ride—it added a nice break to the usual movement and location changes. There are a few minor moments where the player can get stuck on a single pixel (usually near doors), but it’s not a critical issue. One thing to note is that if the keyboard layout isn’t set to English, the 'Z' key doesn’t work. Overall, I had a really enjoyable experience—great work!

I like the art and audio, and something that would make the game better is to show how many ingredients you need.

Thanks for your feedback!

The number of ingredients is one of the secrets of the video game ;)

A very nice retro style urban adventure game! The limited palette graphics work really well, and the nursing home setting is cozy whilst somewhat unsettling (I find that in real-life nursing homes too). Good work!

Just a suggestion: it would be great to have true tile-based movement: i.e. you press a direction key once and then travel smoothly to the centre of the neighbouring tile. This would address the 'pixel perfect' issue that tmachine mentioned below. However, that would require quite a lot of extra programming and, to be fair, the movement system you have works well enough.

I liked the secret dance party hidden inside the mirror. But I hated the control system where you have to be pixel perfect to go through each gap or door, and it often skids beyond the pixel you have to be on - felt like it was making everything harder for no particular reason.

Looks good, but I was stuck on dialogue saying "No time for dishes" and couldn't move at all.

Thanks.

You made this in GB Studio? Huge respects! Actually, I heard about GB studio a while ago and wanted to make some games in it myself. I really liked to play a Game Boy game in this jam.

And the story was delicious, superb!

Developer

Thank you

Yes, I use GB Studio app to make this vidéo game.

The Gameboy lives on! Nice work with the game. I should watch the movie FGT again...

I stole all the ingredients from the neighbors.

I really like the old-school style of this game. The music is good, and the art is appealing.

However, one thing that annoyed me was the movement. You can move half a block, which often makes me miss doors. That was quite frustrating.

Thanks!

Nice little game. I like the theme interpretation and the game plays well. The auto entering for rooms in the retirement home is a bit annoying but other than that great job!
