Let me tell you, impressive. For what your group did, it was done pretty well in terms of 2D art and functioning systems.
I'd like to add onto all the feedback regarding visual/auditory input. Didn't know exactly what I was doing until after about 10 mins of (trying) playing. This was even after I read your descript--just simply didn't know if what I was doing was having any effect.
That bein said, nothing but respect. Your team had a vision and followed through, and it shows in your entry!
This is such a cute concept! I would definitely play a polished version of this game. I agree with the others that it was a little difficult to know what I was doing, and I kept accidentally planting a seed behind the menu icon, I think, haha. But lovely concept!
Super serene entry here, enjoyed that. I second the input that more feedback, visual or auditory, would help the player gauge if they're actually doing anything. I liked the particle effect of the first tree and little things like that could definitely help "fill the gaps" of watching the plants grow, especially early on in the game. Nice work
Just loved it, especially the music. The gameplay was good as well, however it just gets kinda boring after a while. It could be improved upon. However, overall it was good.
If you don't mind, could you rate my game?
For me it was a lot hard to understand if I was really doing something or not. I think it needs some feedback on the button (for example, the item you select starts to follow the mouse) and some feedback on the plant too, to understand if you clicked correctly on it.
Apart from that, the game is really interesting. Peacefully and visually pleasing, nice job!
Thank you so much! Will definitely add more feedback in the future :)
We sow the seed...nature grows the seed...then we eat the seed...and after that...we sow the seed...nature grows the seed...then we eat the seed...and after that...we sow the seed...nature grows the seed...then we eat the seed...and after that...we sow the seed...nature grows the seed...then we eat the seed...and after that...we sow the seed...nature grows the seed...then we eat the seed...and after that...we sow the seed...nature grows the seed...then we eat the seed...and after that...we sow the seed...nature grows the seed...then we eat the seed...and after that...
(also it definitely requires some strong audiovisual feedback for player input and in-game events, maybe a way to defend against flying insects as well)
It was nice to be invited to have a moment of peace. I liked the general idea of it and lots of what has been done here is very pleasing. I did not find the experience of the game loop that relaxing actually. It was confusing to not have the trowel selected when picking up seeds etc. I think with a bit more player feedback it would be a really nice way to pass time. At the moment not having visual clues made it a bit disjointed. I was helped by a friend with how to do a custom cursor and it was suprisingly easy. You could have used something like that to show what was in the hand and that would have made a big difference. All minor things and like I said, lots to like.
Thank you for the feedback.
Updating the cursor to show what the player is "holding" was something we wanted to do, but unfortunately weren't able to do within the time limit. It is definitely something we are planning on adding after the jam ends together with sound and visual effects to give more feedback to the player.
Cool concept, there is potential here! You managed to get the nature calm vibe that comes with a point and click simulator, and its really relaxing. I would only advise for you to improve the UI system and the mouse ray casting. Sometimes I had to click several times with the mouse to water or to catch the seeds and it not practical to 1.choose a seed, 2.close the panel, 3.plant the seed, 4.open the panel, 5.choose another seed, 6.close the panel, 7.combine the seeds. I was rushing to combine seeds before the plants grown up xD.
My tips are only for post-production, because I think you can reach new heights with this wonderful game. The simple and vibrant art is neat and you combine really well the 3D and 2D assets (not easy to do).
I really hope you keep deving this game and making it even better!
Congrats to your team on the really cosy and relaxed game ;)
Thanks so much for trying our game and for your feedback!
Totally agree with you regarding the UI, we're hoping to change that now during polish :)
Thanks again for checking it out, super happy to hear you enjoyed it! :D
A friendly plant simulation game, focused on a more relaxing and meditative experience. Everything is well-presented and organic, from the simplified UI system to the harmonious, vibrant plantlife. The animal interactions are a little odd, as they seem to move in a fixed pose and don't move very much. It could use some QoL improvements; for example, clicking on the seeds doesn't do anything sometimes, or automatically closing the inventory when choosing a seed. Another solid entry!
Thanks for the nice feedback!
We are currently looking at improving the UI and fixing some stuff with the animals. Gland you seemed to enjoy the game and I hope you give it a second try after we've done some polishing . : )
Nice game :) It is hard to grab at first but it is pretty neat once you get what you have to do and how to do it. It looks like the first version of a bigger aesthetic management game. Hope to see its development continue!
Thanks for the nice words!
We haven't decided on just how much to expand on the game yet, but there are a few more things we want to implement.
