This is spectacular, great job with the lights and the ghost, it looks superb!
Some random thoughts:
Good job with this one, I think you have something that you could expand upon if you feel like it :D.
I appreciate you playing. What is your screen size? I intended to make navigation difficult, since that was the only real system going for the game. But thank you for the input. I hope you enjoyed the ambiance
The ambience was very good, as well as the timing to open new areas. My screen size is 3840 x 2160 (typical aspect ration 4k).
Nice looking game with a cool idea. I got lost at 3 altars.
Thank you for playing. :) You probably made it to the end. I just never made a clear ending. haha
Really good looking game, you done an amazing job on the ghost.
I did get lost quite a bit, maybe a waypoint if your stuck in the same area for too long would be helpful.
All in all, great job though
Funny you say that. I was going to put Alters for teleporters at the end of each section, but just didn't get around to it. But thank you for playing. I appreciate the support! :)
I loved the ghost effect with the blanket, it feels so fluid, it's amazing! but I felt kinda lost sometimes, I think I managed to get to the exit but I ran out of light and fell into oblivion xD nice idea and execution though, good job!
Wow! This is beautiful. The look you achieved with the ghost is amazing. Great Job on the ghost. The game play was good. The movement felt really good, great job on the controller. I wish the light lasted a bit longer, and that there was better feed back on how much light you have and the relationship with the spirits you drain. I didn't make the connection. Very, interesting game. Good Job.
nice art and music. They really set the mood. It would have been great of there was more time for you to expand the game a little further!
I agree! I felt aimless most of this project, so I’m glad it’s been at least enjoyable for most. Thank you for playing :)
Visuals are very nice. Concept for the game seems fun! :) Might be nice to have items or abilities to unlock as you go to incentivize exploring further.
I agree! The game made a complete different direction than I intended, but I’m glad people have been able to still enjoy it. Thank you for playing :)
Really Good concept! I always wanted to be a ghost in a game :D!
I found a little problem, when I drained all the souls on the map and I went to (I assume) the last area (the one with the bridge and where I started hearing the voices), I fell into the void, I respawned and going straight after the first door, the floor has disappeared and I continued to go down.
I hope it could be helpful.
Anyway Congrats!!!
Yes, that was the intended final area. I’m so sorry for not actually finishing it. But I became ill and just couldn’t find the energy. I did fix this little bug. You aren’t the first person to find yourself yeeting off into the sweet sweet abyss 😂
Thoroughly impressed by this. The atmosphere and music were spot on and I was surprised by the amount of settings options there was. Player movement was very smooth and the cloth physics were very satisfying! I found it a bit difficult to drain the souls at times, wasn't sure if I had to hold E or just press it. I encountered a bug when I had run out of light and respawned and the wall had opened I walked through and fell through the world, aside from that you did a fantastic job, keep it up!
thank you very much! Luckily the engine has these option settings built in, if you know how to utilize them. Yeah, the skeletons ran off trigger events, so they did bug out at times. But I’m glad you were able to still enjoy it. I have since fixed this bug of people floating away into the abyss of the catacomb 😂
Like another comment pointed out, I love the cloth simulation that happens when you move. It's so satisfying to look at. Movement is very smooth too. Love the atmosphere but sometimes it gets really hard to see even with your light activated. It was a bit of a hefty download but it was worth checking out. Cheers!
thank you for giving it a try! I really tried to put the energy into the ghost, so I’m glad it paid off! I enjoyed the difficulty that the darkness brought, but it seems most found it a bit too difficult. Definitely a great point to keep in mind for future games. :)
the mechanics you have put together is amazing! Also, I love the physics for jump glide and cloth.
i love the cloth physics on the spirit - together with the movement it creates quite the unique feel to the character, i think.
Thank you for playing! I really wanted to put some effort into the ghost, since that was the focal point of the experience. I appreciate the feedback. I felt the same :)
Visually impressive and really good at creating mood/ambiance (darkness can be a little tricky sometimes but overall I think that is an important aspect). Congrats on a great job!
Thank you for noticing the efforts. I wanted something very atmospheric. The darkness I really enjoyed being. But I do agree that it was “too dark” for most. The darkness created a chaos element that most do not seem to love. Thank you for playing
Wow, the visuals and music are impressive! Something I noticed is I missed the controls/how to play and had to restart the game to see it again. It also felt a little too dark even while using the light. But overall great job and nice concept! I'd love to see it developed further 😎
yes, the instruction screen was a last effort implementation while I was sick, so I just didn’t put the time I should have. I apologize. But thank you for playing and unfortunately it will see no further development. I really wanted to just finish something. Start to end, even if I didn’t have my heart in it. But I learned a lot from this project.
The graphics and atmosphere were amazing, if a little dark! I loved the physics of the ghost, with the billowing cloth and the slight head-turns as you were looking around. The changing of the colour/temperature of the light as it faded away was a really nice touch too.
My only critism would be that I wasn't sure if I'd reached the end of the area or just couldn't see the way through (after the long stairs up and the two jail cells). I'd love to play more of this :)
Hey, thank you for noticing the point light ran off the temperature. I got real sick on day 4 and didn’t know what else to do, so funny of you to not us, but yes. The game does not actually end. I intended to do more, but I just didn’t have the energy. But thank you for playing and I appreciate the feedback!
Beautiful game and haunting music. As others commented about the dark, I think the dungeon itself is fine since that's the purpose of the game but I think the light ability could be upped a bit. From reading the description I am assuming the power of the light depends on how many souls you collect and that it is draining when you use it? Perhaps a meter bar showing that would be nice. Overall though a great submission!
hey! Thank you for playing. I agree a bar would’ve been suitable, but I enjoyed the minimalism. That’s why I had the character color change as it’s life lowered. I definitely will keep this into consideration though.
I didn't even notice the color change, but wasn't watching for it. I will have to go back and try again!
yes. The ghost health is temperature based, so it starts white and eventually reduces to a deep red
Wow the graphics are just awesome, you got me wondering if changing to Unreal will be a better choice. It was a little confussing i didnt knew where to go. Im still amazed by the graphics and the cloth physics. Great submission!
hey! Thank you. The whole game was made with Blueprint scripting. Unreal is nice, but has a lot of demand at first to learning the engine. I’m glad you liked it. The ghost just took maybe 30minutes. It’s a blend between blenders cloth simulation and Unreal’s cloth simulation
Thank you for playing! Yes. The darkness is noted. I have the levels stream in after the sequencer is done. It’s a known bug that I should’ve spent more time fixing.
It is beatiful! I love the ghost! but it is a little dark in there :c Maybe more light would help
Thank you! The ghost is my pride! I made it in just a few minutes of the Jam starting. The darkness is something I should’ve upped, but I just enjoyed it too much. But upping the ghost’s light is duly noted!
