I love it :-)
Thank you!
Played and rated. Had a great time for a while!
Pros
Cons
Overall a nice relaxing game that is fun to play for a while, but only lacks sprinting in my opinion. Great work for making this in 10 days! :)
Would appreciate if you check out and rate our game as well: https://hadilepanda.itch.io/rise-of-necromancy
Thank you very much for your post!
You are right. It takes way long time walking back and forth, and there are not makers or any kind of helpful feature than the player can use (we didn't have enough time to implement it). We will work on it once the gamejam finishes. Again, thank you!
Like any good unreal engine game, playing it in my potato of a pc makes the game run with low fps xD which made the platforming part kinda frustrating. But apart from that, the environment looks amazing, and the music fits each area. The puzzle is simple, it just takes time to explore the map. Overall a really great game.
Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, unfortunately, we weren't able to test on a low-performance PC, so we apologize for this. In case there are the Video Settings options in the menu where you can lower some settings, maybe could better fit your PC spec!, in case let us know :D. Thank you for git it a try!
Yeah, I change the video setting because the first time I played it I can barely move around :D. After I set the setting to Low It is getting better, though there's still a slight delay in input and actual movement I managed to finish it. Great job in this Jam :)
Thank you! We will try to solve it after the jam.
Nice work with the environments. I'm impressed by how many levels you managed to fit in, each one with its own gameplay characteristic.
Very nice use of light with the bricks in the second level, especially when you throw them inside a dark room. And also, awesome menus.
Good job!
Thank you very much for your kind words! We appreciate it! Thank you for playing it!
I love the concept. Super setting and beautiful work on the leaves.
I just had a few problems with the jumps, but it's all playable with a beautiful alien world.
Good job :)
Thank you very much for your words! Yeah, the jumps are very difficult at the beginning, sorry about it. I any care Thank you for Playing it!
I have a low end video card so that may have been my issue, but it was so dark I could no make out the ground easily. I fell a lot due to not being able to see there was no ground. I think a little more lighting would be nice. The look and feel were amazing. The music especially was very moody, loved it. So you know the Audio settings did not work in the options menu.
Thank you for your feedback! Yeah, sorry for the too dark area on the third island, we will try to fix it :)! For the Menu audio setting yes :D, we are aware of it, we had many problems with it and we decided to disable it at all to avoid destroying the sound atmosphere! And again thank you for playing it!
That alien fauna really looks pretty! After I got the “hint” with the lamps at each plate I understood the sequence and was able to open the door. The jumping sequence on lvl2 made me see the free falling animation several times ;) As for the technical “issues”: I also encountered some blurriness and a few flickers (Nvidia 1070). Also after one “teleport home” the scene turned into night mode, not sure if that was intentional. Gonna finish this game after I recover from the jam review marathon…
Thank you very much for your feedback! If you mean the teleport after the Desert area, yes, the night scene is intentional :D. The other issue we will try to fix in the next few days, thank you for mentioning them :). Thank you again for playing!
Great images with a really touching script. Really enigmatic in the early stages but overall an excellent entertainment driven mainly by curiosity in discovering the end of the journey.
Thank you very much!
Very, very nice :)
Thank you!
Only a few mins into this game and you can see the outstanding quality from the get go. Very proffessional and well executed.
My only critique would be i thought the game crashed the first time it loaded as it was a fully black screen, once i realised the audio was there i was impressed by the story given :D
Will be keeping this for time to come as it's super enjoyable. Well done!!
Thank you very much! Yeah, I agree with the first "Crash Impression" of the black screen :P. The Audio Cinematic is a bit strange to see (see I think is not a proper word here :D). We apologise for it. I would love to have had more time to add more things there and in the final at the end of the game. In any case, thank you so much for your time playing our game! :)
The graphics are beautiful, and I really liked the overall design! The changing of the music and atmospherics between the different areas was really nice and it helped to show the journey of the character.
The only technical issue I could see was that after opening the door to the house in the first area, the subtitles on a couple of lines were overflowing outside of the backing image, making them a bit hard to read.
Thank you for your kind words and your feedback! yeah, the subtitle system is a bit row, we apologize for it. We will try to fix it :D.
Thank you again for playing our game!
Loved the beautiful world and the sound. The UI is very cleanly done as well! Would love to see more of a story behind this and a sense of purpose. Great submission!
Thank you very much! We appreciate it! The story behind is like a soft line that joins all the challenges that the protagonist has to make during his voyage (explained in the final Audio Cutscene :D)! Thank you again for playing!
Cool game for sure. The fluidity of the jump with the character, a big fan. All though, I do agree. I felt no real impression of what to actually be doing. The aesthetic was cool, but it felt a little too mixed and matched between different art and the music. I got whimsical vibes with tranquil music. Unfortunately I didn't go very far. But I see the effort!
Thank you so much for your comment! We really appreciate the feed back, and will try to give more feedbacks to the player. About the music and Art, we can't adjust it now, but we will look into it after the jam.
Interesting idea nad great visuals. It would be nice to have more visual feedback or understanding that you don't want the other people around touching you. And I was stepping on a pressure plate but it didn't seem to do anything. Is there a specific order you have to do it? Great work to the team!
Thank you very much for the comment! Yes, the plates have to be stepped on, in order. I agree with you, we need more visual feedback, so the player can understand the game mechanics. We will try to think a way to do it.
Thanks for playing!
Oh no problem. I'm guessing I was stepping on the "final plate" that overlooks the path of piping that the water pours down. You could have the other plates open ended on order (to push on exploration and not feel the need to go in a specific direction) and do something to lock that last plate until the others are pushed (like a barrier or some lights on a pole that light up when the others are pressed down on). Just some thoughts. Really nice idea. Good luck and I hope the team feels proud of what you all did!
Thank you very much!
Was the motion blur on the movement of the camera intentional or just an artefact of Unreal/my PC?Unfortunately I couldn't play for too long, the motion blur effect and the bright colours of that first island gave me a headache very quickly!
Definitely very vivid art direction and can see the other scenes in the background, so very well realised world, creepy dolls wandering about, definitely fits the Dream World quality, fantastic feeling floating weird island.
For one gameplay criticism, it seemed that I had to activate the first 4 pads in order?
For an exploration find the triggers type game, finding them can be fun as you explore the world, but forcing it to be in order as well can be a bit frustrating!
Will definitely give a longer look if the bloom/lighting can be turned down and the motion blur comes off!
The motion blur was not intentional. We will try to solve it, thank you for pointing it out! Could you let me know (in private if you want) the specs of your PC? That would help us solve the problem.
Yes, the pads have to be activated in order. Thank you for pointing it out it can be frustrating! We can't change it now, but after the jam we will try to work a better way.
No Problem!
(If images dont work - AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.00 GHz, 16.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960)
I suspect its an unreal engine thing
I can have some playing with the VSync, i did put it to 60, and it did lessen it a bit, can try a bit more
If you want direct screen-footage let me know through DM and i can organise some OBS capture
Thank you! We will look into it
I think we have solved it, if you want to try it again. Thanks again for your help!
Wow such beautiful Art and Sound and everything.
Had a very good time to play your game. :)
Thank you so much!
Hey I really dig the art you did for this. It plays smoothly and nice to look at. Very pretty environments and I can see it has loads of potential :)
Thank you very much! :D
Awesome work on this game! I enjoyed the multiple locations with different aesthetics, made me want to play Alice Madness Returns again! The companion is funny as well.
Perhaps the areas could be a bit smaller though, as there isn't much to do besides running around, and some platforms were tricky specially in the desert part, so I had to restart from the checkpoint a lot.
Thank you very much for your suggestion. I agree, maybe the next time, less large map :D, thank you again for you suggestion!
Marvelous Graphics.
Thank you very much for the nice words :D
you're welcome
Beautiful graphics, music and sound fx, but I couldn't figure out what to do! Activated the four pressure plates to restore water, but had nowhere to go after that. Maybe needs some instructions to guide new players a little better? Either way, well done visually.
Hi stimdealer! Thank you for playing our little game! Yeah, I agree there it needs a better indication, we apologize for that. In case after the 4 pressure you need to return to the Japanese house and open the door, it will be unlocked. :)
