A goose is on the loose! Those birds be wild and I would normally die from choosing the wrong dialog :) Good Work!

games about dates >>> thought the art style & dialogue were awesome :) only note would be to add more lives for both the dialogue & gameplay, was maybe a little too easy to lose. thanks for creating this!

Great concept, wish we had come up with something similar!

Pretty fun game, well done in completing the Jam! :)

Really nice visual style, shame about the audio, maybe  you could add it after the jam closes? the lack of sound didn't really spoil my experience, the story was really good and I liked playing the arcade game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yes I might! Also thinking about re-developing this in Unity to compare the two engines. This was our first game made using Godot 4! :)

how do you like Godot? I was thinking of claiming the Godot course as my prize for the Jam, I currently use Unity which I like, I just want to explore other engines.

I don't have much to compare with, but I really enjoyed the workflow! My main reason for testing Unity as well is of the eco-system and abundance of tutorials available. Else I would've settled Godot! :)

One thing worth mentioning is that everything loads really fast, which really aids with keeping you in that "development-flow"-state. Did not think that would have sucha positive impact on my experience as it turned out to have!

It was almost perfect if it had music and SFX; I love ducks; I love the aesthetics; and the shooter game, though the dialogue covers part of the screen, was pretty cool. The story was cute as well; still, good job!

Thank you so much! Real bummer that we didnt have time to give it some audio! :)

Such a cute story I love ducks. Really cinematic cutscenes too!

excellent game, the colors in the game pops out and I like the zoom-in effext when you are starting out the game. good job. would try out my game and rate it according.

Very cool concept and execution. It's rare to see a dating sim which isnt in the perspective of a male protagonist. Also, very impressive visual effects and post-processing for the arcade game! And really create usage of the thematics aswell. Really great!

Really cool story ! If you want to see ours check our game :D : https://astral-creation-studio.itch.io/your-princess-is-in-another-dimension

The story of the game is cool and graphics are brilliant <3 I think that with music and sound  this game would be little better :)

This game gave me Journey of the Prairie King flashbacks. I played that one a lot. This game's kind of like this one: https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-jam-2023/rate/2093703

Loved the story and the aesthetics! But I agree with the others here that it's a bit sad that there are no sound effects or music.

Developer(+1)

Lol ye awsome! Hadnt seen that submission! Exactly the same concept, but different executions!

Submitted(+1)

Visuals are awesome! But the lack of music and sound undermines the game. Also in the game within the game, trying to dodge the enemies and also reading the panels really makes this hard. I wish you just had a little more time to finish the game completely!

Developer

Thanks! I agree!

He ended our date because he didn't like the same music as me 0/10.

JK 😁Amazing game! Really interesting blend and if fits very well with the theme. Amazing visuals, great story and dialogue. Wish it also had some music and sounds, but that's not a deal-breaker. One thing that bugged me was the fact that I had to read dialogue and choose answers while I was playing the arcade game, so I kinda half-assed both of them, other than that it's an awesome game, congrats!

Developer (1 edit)

Ye, haha that was the gameplay element I wanted to mediate, to juggle the dialogue while playing the game! Ofc, execution could have been better with dialogue timers and so on, but ye, also contended with the deadline! Thanks for playing! :D

Very interesting concept and this looks great!

I personally find every game about geese to be enjoyable, such as "Untitled Goose Simulator". Additionally, the arcade game being the same as the one in Stardew Valley adds to the cool factor. Overall, it's a cool game.

Explored the game in game theme very well. Loved the atari game's shading/look.
