Great game overall despite the tts issues. I really like all the dayMons design, and the the fact that there is a description of the shape and colors  is really cool.

Where can i find the discord group you are in Ericbomb?

Very cool, I'm glad you remade your pokemon style game into this rogulike. You made a great game. Special thanks for the support of NVDA. There is not enough ability to change the music volume. There is no way to read the description of items in the inventory. Some bugs are depressing, but I hope you polish this game.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that! I thought I had that working! Thank you for playing, I'm trying to fix all the TTS issues.

Sure, i am able to take a screenshot of the error. How would i find your discord group?

So i noticed there was a new version of the game which i had missed. At least it said 0.2 at the end of the game file name. I downloaded it and could play a bit. I saved my game and i wanted to continue, i got a code error when i pressed the x key at the continue option. I tried to paste the error here, but it does not work.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! I'll check why save files are failing! Thank you for playing!

I'm sorry I can't get the error to happen! If you get the error again, could you take a screen shot of it, then send it to me on discord? I'm in the games for blind gamer discord. I understand if your PC isn't set up for screenshots though, so will keep trying to figure out the error either way!

Hi! I just am curious. How would we know when you release new versions of the game? I really like the game, but am curious how you will update it. I am interested to test your game and continue to give feedback.

I found another issue or bug witht he game. So i got to the part where i have to face the overlord of the area, i get into a daymon pack and my active daymon gets defeated. I know i have other daymon in my party, but unfortunately i cannot select them. I got a few daymon defeated in a earlier fight, but I know i have daymon left. I get stuck on teh move list, the tts just says the name of the attack, I try to pick a daymon, but i get no response. I try pressing the x key, but get no response. I can't do anything at all and i am totally stuck.

I'm so sorry to hear that! I thought I fixed that, I'll look into it right away.

Oh hi Eric! I am glad to have another opportunity to tell you that your game sucks. :P

Nah, just kidding. This’s pretty fun! I haven’t been able to get too far because I aparently suck myself, but I might have better luck later on.

It’s quite buggy though. Canceling doesn’t work half the time, leaving menu options mislabeled. I even got stuck by accidentally selecting an already-dead monster when switching after its death, upon which I was unable to select anyone else despite canceling. I had a good party that time, too!

Also, why x and z? Even on querty keyboards where they’re close together, it’s not the most comfortable arrangement. Space works so much better when you need to tap a key all the time. And you do, because the game doesn’t register the first keypress quite often.

But over all, this is well done. The screen reader support works beautifully, the challenge is there but feels fair, and the music is good, if hella loud. Keep it up!

Oh it's been forever Mayana!
I'm glad you liked it! I'm really happy with the game play loop, so I plan to fix a lot of the bugs. Game jam things where I ran out of time to fix things.

As for keys, yeah I'm thinking I'll switch to Ctrl = cancel, space = accept, then WASD/Arrow keys for movement.

I'll look into all these issues and see what I can do! Thanks for playing!

Hi there! I really had a blast playing this game. I certainly enjoyed it and thought it was a relaly fun game. The music is incredibly catchy and I can't get it out of my head. I kept coming back to the game even though i have done multiple playthroughs. This is a interesting take on the monster catching genre and I relaly like it.

I am amazed with how you were able to make the accessibility features in the short dev time you had. I feel this is one of the games i enjoyed the most of the jam. I had some issues while playing like i had a code error happen when i hit f1 to toggle tts on and off, but resetting the game fixed it.

I fealt there was some issues with getting tts to read the screens like when i was in a shrine, i got confused that the page besides my party was the monsters outside my party. That could be a bit clearer. I also noticed when i clicked on my character card, i got no text read like how much money i have on me. In menus, i was only able to use the rocks, but tried to use other items.

In battle, it would be cool to have a key to check the type of the monster you fight and how much damage you do with each move. I would also appreciate what type the move is in teh menu. I had a issue when i had a monster left in my party, but couldn't select it so i got stuck in the menu to select another monster. ANd had a issue when i wanted to pick another monster at the start.

The sound quality is relaly high and I relaly love the sounds. I would be glad to further support this and to maybe test out features. You have certainly made me interested.

Thank you for the kind words!

So I got a lot done because I stole large parts from old failed projects (my itch.io profile is a graveyard of half completed turn based RPGs). But it led to a lot of weirdness that you experienced, because I was stitching stuff together.

I had a wonderful team mate help with music and it all around turned out super nice!

Those are a lot of issues I didn't even consider because I'm sighted, so I'll for sure revamp the inventory, monster selecting, and shrines! I'm glad you have fun, and I'll for sure let you know once things are even more accessible and balanced!

This is definitely one of the best games in the jam, and really quite impressive for just a month's worth of dev time. Allot of fun!

There were a fair amount of bugs/missing features yes, but in general the main game loop was really solid [enough to keep me interested over multiple playthroughs], the accessibility is great [with support for multiple screen readers], the music was catchy and the sounds [though limited in scope] were high quality.

I like the combination of monster fighting with a roguelike, and the space and chaos types were a nice departure from the norm.

There were a few parts that could have used more explanation, like the stats listed for each move, or the big mostly empty grid when using a shrine, and I really felt like a key to describe the item your cursor was on would have been a great addition especially for items, moves, and the monster selection screen at the start.

The keys were listed all at once, and with no way to repeat the last spoken message or see previous messages in a history buffer, no other place to find the keystroke list, and immediate loud [though awesome] music on startup, it was like being thrown into the deep end.

I had some menu weirdness when picking monsters that kept me from choosing the one I wanted at the start, and I wasn't able to use any items other than the rocks. I also had trouble in the give item part of the shrine.

I wish we would have gotten specific damage info for moves in battle, and the ability to check the type and basic stats of the enemy.

I consistently got a nasty error when trying to turn TTS back on with F1, but thankfully the option reset on restart.

Despite any criticisms I may have, this was an awesome start, and I would be happy to support further development of this project. You've got a good thing going here, and something to be proud of!

Thank you very much for participating. :)

Oh I'm sorry to hear you ran into so many issues! I stole code from previous projects, and it led to a bit of a frakenstein.

But I'm so happy to hear you managed to have fun! Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm going to go through and try to fix all of it over next month!

Oh yeah, that's totally fine man. That's one of the best parts of game jams, it's low stakes. It certainly didn't stop me from wanting to play again...
