Nice work! I really enjoyed the gameplay, it felt really well balanced and paced for a jam, and had a good loop to it. It was really satisfying whenever I was able to fit a block perfectly to the enemies. The artwork and music were great as well.

I like this idea; it's really inventive! I ended up spending more time than I'd have thought just restarting and trying to figure out the best strategy to survive. I always felt like I was just scraping by, but I was enjoying it nonetheless.
I'm sure with some fine-tuning you could make something really solid out of this!
I was definitely aiming for replay-ability, so I'm glad to hear it landed! Thank you for the kind words :)
Especially after all of the jam comments, I'm considering a fuller experience using the same concepts. And yes, some fine tuning is definitely needed! I completely understand where the "scraping by" feeling is coming from.
Thanks for playing!
Really creative concept that seems really well polished! I had a lot of fun with this game!
This is a really creative and interesting concept for a game, and it fits the Gameboy aesthetic really well. The gameplay does kind of get a bit repetitive fairly quickly as there isn't that much of a change in difficulty/strategy as you go on. I got to level 7 before letting the enemies kill me, so admittedly there might have been more stuff I missed that came after that.
I do like the idea for the combat though, maybe having enemies that block tiles or do attacks that do something other than just damage would help keep it interesting (Although that'd probably be out of the scope of a game jam lol).
I am really glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Sadly, yeah, my scope was pretty limited. The enemies do get stronger and stronger stats, but the balancing never felt quite right. I also agree they need a bit more intelligence/variety.
Hopefully, I can flesh out the game in the future! I really appreciate the feedback and thank you for investing a little time into my entry! :)
Very solid entry!
I love the concept, specially with how many options the village shop gives you to switch attacks around. Excellent presentation too.
Congrats!
Really cool concept and well executed! The defense draining attack never felt worth it but I'm probably missing something!
