Thank you! Yes I am, you can find me on twitter or bluesky @chrispariano if you'd like to message me there!

Thank you!!

Thank you friend! More to come!!

and thank you!

Been there done that ;_;

Thank you!! : D

Thank you so much! Optimizing it for the 192 tiles probably took as long as it did to draw it in the first place 😂

Thank you so much friend! I'm a traditional illustrator as well so it allows me to better do pixel pieces like this :]

I added the banner, didn't see anywhere else I could add it. Let me know if I need to do anything else

Really cool demo, excited to see more!

Hello, I've tried to make it possible through the itch installer, including adding a download file that is only the windows executable ( Genesis Seed 137.exe) Please let me know if it works for you! and if you have problems with the text appearing distorted, downloading the "silkscreen" font and having it in the same folder as the .exe should fix it! https://www.dafont.com/silkscreen.font

Oh no! I'm talking to our programmer now to see what might be up. It's made in clickteam fusion which does flag firewalls/ microsoft defender sometimes. We'll make sure you can download it soon :]

Thank you so much!!! I've thought about doing enemy sprites as they're a bit more functionally important for a game- got any suggestions? :] I've also thought about branching off into a dark fantasy set

Thank you!! Love all your mini sets too :]

Thank you so much!! While I did steal the gbstudio palette, this game was made in clickteam fusion! Some parts would be quite difficult to make work in an actual GB rom, but you do have me thinking....

Some bugs/ oddities in traversing the map, but great concept and full of charm! :]

Clearly the most ambitious submission of the jam; polished up it would be a great game for release!

Very well fleshed out stealth game with compelling writing! Incredible effort for learning gbstudio during the jam as well!

Oozing with charm, catchy tunes, and super wholesome! Incredible that it's your first game too; great effort!

Thank you!! Doing this jam alongside full time jobs too  was rough ;_;

You are too kind with this review, thank you!! I made the mistake of requesting items deplete on use, not realizing progress on encounters didn't save! Definitely something we would fix post jam :]

Thank you so much; I too loved the idea of giving eldritch beings mundane items so I'm glad the humor landed! It was my fault I asked the programmer to make items deplete on use, not realizing encounters didn't save progress !!

Thank you! Hehe we thought about making hints but ran out of time!

Thanks so much!!

Thank you so much!! Yeah this theme kicked our butt, was happy to make something decent out of it!!

Thank you : D

Thanks!

Thank you!

More existential questions than I thought I'd get from the theme, but an interesting little narrative nonetheless!

Followed this on twitter and was excited to check it out! Turns out I don't have anywhere near enough retro knowledge for this, but the art and sound make for great vibes :] For some reason I do think my expectations of iso movement are opposite what this game is, I think of up=northeast instead of northwest, and all that follow, so it didn't feel natural to me.

(1 edit)

Really cool concept and well executed! The defense draining attack never felt worth it but I'm probably missing something!

Some of the graphics make it hard to distinguish what's going on ( can't tell which icons are which) but a cool concept and extra points for being an actual gameboy game!!

A lot of personality packed into a little cartridge :] Extra points for making a real gameboy game!

Relaxing music track and great little idle game!

The resolution is mixed, but other than that it's a very cute little game!

Doesn't seem to stick to the gameboy's resolution, but it's a cool idea! The gameboy has been known to do some rudimentary 3d stuff, so this isn't too farfetched!

Very cute detailed sprite in a charming environment! Gameplay is simple but scratches the pet sim itch. Kudos for making an actual gameboy game!

This was a great experience! The art and sound are phenomenal, and while the gameplay is simple, it's well executed! Definitely nails the gameboy feel too. :]

Yes! to see what little we have of the 3rd boss, SKIP the dragon boss ( don't interact with it's crystal) and when you go into the final room, the 3rd boss's crystal should be there! Yep, it's all really a matter of execution, isn't it? :] was going to have the dungeon rooms start to glitch out a little bit too( alongside character dialogue)  to set up for the unholy dragon fight.

Well a gb rom might be a bit of a stretch but we will let you know when the polished version is out! it was developed in fusion; but we do have ideas of porting what we can to gbstudio; the biggest thing we'd have to nix is the "mode 7" style airship travel, although it could be replaced with something "shmupy" perhaps.

thank you so much! Yep unfortunately the dungeon was the last thing we were able to implement and it had these issues; you did things the right way and got punished for it! As for the garbled dragon, he's supposed to look like that! We didn't have time to set it up narratively or visually enough, but the idea is that reality starts to crumble around the entities found in this dungeon, and I've always loved glitched aesthetics ever since I found missingno. way back in the day...

We are actively working on a polished version and it will definitely include a better cutscene and inventory/ status screen system :]

Thanks again!
